My Elura somehow is zooming in all the time. I can back it out slowly but as soon as I take my finger off - it zooms in again. Please let me know how to fix this. Thanks

IT DOES WORK! I bought the E70 off Craiglist for 40 bucks probably because it was doing this to the girl that owned it. I got it to play cassettes, tried to find what "function" caused this stuck zoom to happen and the guy below is right, just a good tap to the side and it stopped! Unbelievable, it worked!!!!

The zoom in rocker is stuck, its a physical problem, you need to try cleaning it with surgical alcohol and an ear bud. or take it to a camera repair shop.

also you can try whacking the camera, just like a fairly hard whack, like you are clapping that kind of force, that will fix it!!!!!

I have an Elura 80 that decided to start this trick of slowly zooming in by itself the day (TODAY) of my sons 2nd grade musical. I shook the zoom button fully from side to side many times and only in frustration did I smack it after reading this page. It WORKS now. I don't know how long it'll stay working but I need it to go for at least one more hour!

The iphone is stuck on zoom

Are you seeing large icons on your screen? if yes, then just tap three fingers on your screen at the same time. this would put back your iphone to its normal size. chances were, when you grabbed your iphone from your pocket, you unintentionally grabbed it with your three fingers on the screen, zooming in your screen. So the solution here is to tap three fingers again to zoom out.

Please let me know how this works. Thank you for using FixYa.

My screen is zoomed in and I can't zoom it out at all. I've tried restarting the phone a number of times and as soon as it restarts, it zooms in again. What can I do? I can't use my phone because I can't...

To zoom out, DOUBLE-TAP the home screen with THREE fingers.

Your screen became zoomed in because an "Accessiblity" zoom feature was activated, perhaps accidentally.
Turn Zoom on or off:
In Settings, choose General > Accessibility > Zoom and tap the Zoom On/Off switch.

Zoom problem

The zoom is stuck. Smack the bottom of the camera with the palm of your hand. Worked like a charm for me.

I need help!

i had the same problem, i shut the camera off, hit the cassette door a few times (not kidding) and when i turned it on it was fixed. the zoom bar will not show on the camera screen, but it won't keep zooming in by itself!! i had gotten this advice from people who had a similiar problem with the elura 60's models, must be a problem across the board.

Zoom button is malfunctioning

tons of people w/ any canon elura series cameras including myself, with a canon elura 80 have the same zoom problem. It does not appear that canon has done anything to try to solve this mass problem with this series of cameras. Oddly enough the only way to solve this problem is to give it a tap and gentle hits near the zoom button to release what would seem to be a jam. Sorry that there's really no straight forward answer, but for now its the best i can give.

Canon Elura 60 zooms by itself

Listen, I know it's a couple of years after this post but, try this: Remove cassette, push to close, close camera as if to use it, hold firmly in left hand, open hand slap it with your right hand once or twice, (I'm not joking) it worked the two times I had this problem. Problems with the zoom? Almost same process, push firmly on zoom button (to un-zoom) try doing this as your tapping it. These are last ditch efforts on an aging camera, it really has been a good one. I've put this poor thing through years of abuse, and it's held up pretty well. Good luck, Jeff S.

Automatically zooming in

Hello:

I contacted Canon about this same issue in my Elura 65, and they said to send it to them, they would have their techs investigate the cause and then contact me with the costs to make the repairs. They said that if I didn't want them to repair the problem, after I found out the cost, that they would reassemble the camera and send it back.

Mine is out of warranty, even with buying it at Costco, who doubles the warranty time. In my researching the problem, I have found another person with the same problem who had it repaired for something like $175. I will weigh that against purchasing a newer model.

Someone else did reccommend wacking in on the top a few times, shutting if off and turning it back on, and that would often fix the problem. I don't want to take the chance of ruining an important shot that may not come around again, by having to Indian Leg Wrestle my camera to get it to work. Best wishes.
