I have a quanta 3082 MB in a HP Pavilion zd8230us laptop when I startup it beeps constantly got any ideas? anyone

The beeps with have a pattern to them. Listen closely when you first turn the laptop on and listen for the pattern. It might be something like 1-3-2 (1 beep, wait, 3 beeps in a row, wait, 2 beeps) It will repeat for listen for a bit to make sure you have the correct pattern. Once you have that pattern got to the HP webpage, in the support section, in the search type in "beep code errors". It will give you a list of beep patterns and tell you what the problem is. It could be the RAM, it could be another problem with the motherboard; those codes are what you need to have first.

Hi.. i have hp pavilion laptop and the problem is my laptop shutting down automatically at startup

Hi there,
The fan is probably stuffed with dirt, making it difficult to rotate. And if the processor doesn't get enough cooler (fan) it will heat up and burn. Thats why it keeps shutting down. The shutting down is actually protecting your pc from serious damage. So try cleaning the fan with a vacuum cleaner. Be careful not to use too much pressure. Goodluck

My hp a 1410n desktop powers up but shuts down after five seconds

#1 on the list for this is shut down from over heat due to CPU fan not running or CPU overheat. Check to see if your CPU fan is turning on when your system is powering up. If its not.. thats your problem (get a new fan)... Even if it is it could mean the fan is not properly contacting the CPU with thermal paste. If this is the first time you\'ve powered the system up, your next step is to go out and get some thermal paste and put it under the CPU fan, if you\'ve been running the system and this problem just cropped up.. skip the thermal paste, its already there. #2 Next possibility is BIOs power settings are incompatible with your hardware. For example the frequency on the CPU is set higher then it can operate and its over heating. Some systems will automatically shut down and restart with default settings others you have to get into and set to default. can you get into BIOS? Can you reset your BIOS settings to defaults? Check your mother board manual. #3 A compenent is shorting out your system and needs to be replaced. Is the system posting prior to shutdown (beeping once on start up?) If its beeping more then once that means something else and you should read your manual. If its not beeping then its a short somewhere and you can bet you have a bad part in the system. To identify which part it is you can either disconnect things (RAM, Drives, vid card, PCI cards, ect) one at a time, attempting to start the system after each one or you can take everything but the bare bones out and try to start it. I usually take all the RAM out but one stick and start by testing them. Your RAM is the most likely place for a problem in this situation. #4 If you\'ve striped it down and it still can\'t get a boot (with no post beep). You need to replace the mother board.

My windows vista desktop will beep once on startup then the fans run really loud then it shuts off

The beep is from your motherboard not Vista. To identify the problem we need to know the make and model of the computer or the motherboard.

I have a HP Compaq DX2000MT computer. When I want to start up the pc, he gives 10 beeps and the following message : Chassis fan not functioning, check fan connections & call for service. Shutting...

Without the chassis fan the pc would overheat and fry so it's shut down. Do what the warning message says: open the case, clean the interior and check the wire connector of the fan. If the fan still doesn't turns then it has failed and it will have to be replaced - a new one costs$10 at every pc shop.
You will need the manuals for service and maintenance

Got a screen message that fan is not working. Now when I turn on the computer it just beeps at me. What do I need to do to solve this problem?

Open cover and switch it on, check if fans turn (assume CPU fan), if not switch it off and remove from mains, replace faulty fan or clean the fan with a small brush and vacuum cleaner might be clogged with dust. If this fails check bios settings for CPU temperature and adjust accordingly, do not exceed recommended CPU temperature, or CPU will overheat and eventually be destroyed.

Computer shuts down and beeps due to over heating and bios shuts down machine as a precaution.

My computer will not stay on

Could use more info. but, is it just going in to sleep mode ?..check your power settings under Display properties, Screen saver, Power.

Do you hear any Beep codes at startup ?. .does it shut off after maybe logging on to windows ?. . Check to see if the Fan runs, it may be over-heating and shuts down to prevent thermal damage to the CPU. if your fan is not running, DO not start it up till u replace the fan.

good luck,

Emachines wont boot

Bad capacitor(s) on the motherboard can cause this problem, corrupted BIOS maybe... try flashing BIOS.
Probably the CPU if your not getting any error code beeps on startup.. NO Processor for the BIOS instructions thus no Beeps !
