Either going off on low charge which would cause it to ice up, which means you need refrigerant. or high head pressure might just have to clean the coils or check condensor fan.

I set it for 70 degrees and at 78 degrees to 80 degrees the compressor will turn on for about a minute and turn off. If I move the machine or walk by it the compressor will turn on for a minute.???

there are a couple things you need to rule out. first look at the capacitor in the outside unit. big round cylinder in the compartment above where the copper lines enter the unit out side. if it is round on top its bad. or it could judt be week and need a boot with a hard farf kit. check the compressor to see if its overtly hot or the coils are very dirty restricting the air pull or circulation which will not only keep it from reaching temp but it will burn freon and being short on gas will cause the same thing symptom.

there are 2 possiblities on this . 1 the indoor fan is running to slow you need to run it at hihg . or the unit is low on charge. Try running it on high fan and see if that does not solve the problem also close any vnets on the unit that say fresh air or outside air. when its really humide you don't need to bring in more. Let me know hope this help ... Jon

Lg 10000 btu ac wall unit

if you remove the front cover you should see a little sensor with a wire. you need to make sure it has not fallen off its bracket or came off form the evaporator. if it looks to be ok and mounted correctly, you may have a bad sensor and it is not able to tell the temp and not shut the unit down. also to on very hot and humid days even though you have it set to energy saver it senses it still needs to run. If you turn the thermostat up when its on the energy saver will it shut off? and if you do the same on the regular setting will the comressor shut off and the fan stay running? Let me know and I can go from there. Thanks
