This is a good test of actual bandwidth. You would need to contact your isp to find out what speed connection you are paying for, you can then connect the two.

Internet explorer operating slowly vista internet explorer 8 Comcast broadband

Hi, fw4golf.
There's a few things you can try. First, try disabling or uninstalling any toolbars you may use with Internet Explorer. They tend to do more harm than good. Also, try clearing out your cache and cookies. Go up to Tools, Internet Options, and then Clear Browsing History. That should help.
Thanks for posting.

Dell computer.5 yrs.old. Very, very, slow. What can be done? Have dial up internet service. Also, what does memory upgrade mean?

Hi,

There's nothing you can do about your internet speed, dial up is dial up and is known to be slow. If you want fast internet then you would need broadband.

A memory upgrade would speed up the overall performance of the PC. For example: the computer may take 5 minutes to fully boot up and programs taking time to launch. This would not fully resolve but help it to be more responsive.

A memory upgrade is always recommended by me. I expect that your computer can be probably maxed out to 2GB of memory.

Regards.

My computer is slowing down. It is a Dell 4700. I just had memory modules changed from 512 to 2 gigabytes with very little improvement. Internet provder is time warner (turbo). Any advice?

Just 'restore' the system or 'recover' the system to an earlier more pristine state. That will speed up your computer, and install all the right drivers for you. Then, make sure you have it connected to the Internet to do all of the automatic updates, and you're in like Flynn to the fast computer club.

I just flashed my Bios Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 from F12 to F13. Now my CPU fan is at full speed. It's loud and driving me nuts. I've looked all through the bios to see if I can slow it down. Also, went on...

it's actually good that your cpu fan is runing at it's full speed. Usually only the manufacturer issues firmwares. Lookforward Gigabyte for the update. thanx

Hi when i tried to install anew ram an error occured. the error message was OC fails . My motherbored is gigabyte

I think your motherboard bus speed not support the ram which your are going to install.
for more specification check your motherboard manual how much bus speed it support and then check your ram bus speed.
If you provide your motherboard name then this will be more better for to detect problem.

Hope this will solve your problem.
