Question about Western Digital My Book Essential Edition (WDG1U5000N) 500 GB Hard Drive
I bought this hard drive about a month ago, and last night I tripped over the power cord and it fell from my desk to the carpet. (My desk is about 30 inc. off the floor). Initially, my computer could recognize that the hard drive existed but the computer couldn't access any information stored on it. Today, I tried to get it running again but now it's staying in "Lock" mode and I can't get it to come out, so my computer is unable to detect the drive. Should I invest in data recovery or is there still hope?
Bdfreo you do anything, try the device on anopther pc. see if it works then youhave nothing much to worry. if it does not, then i guess you have to go for data recovery
