You should be able to get a new carb from any john Deere dealer. You may want to check the tractor for fire when it's warm, you may have a coil breaking down when warm due to the oil has leaked out over the years.I would check to see if you have spark or not before buying a new carb.

Hi Laurin:
Considering all that you have done, it is possible that you do have a bad condensor. If the consendor has a defective component that reacts to temperature, it may be that when cold, the correct function is happening, and as it warms up (the 5 minutes run time)
the expansion associated with the temperature change causes the malfunction.
Considering the relatively low cost, I'd be considering doing both the points and condensor.

My john deere 2010 backfired twice now wont do anything when I turn the key I hear tumbleweeds

So it won't activate the starter motor either?
If so then sounds like a safety switch issue.

If starter goes and it just won't start, then sounds like your fuel got cut off - check the fuel cutout solenoid that some ride-ons have on the carb - follow its wire back to the ignition switch and look for shorts / breaks etc.

John deere mower Won't start

Sounds like the carb is varnished up and needs to be rebuilt. They make rebuild kits depending on the carb number and you can rebuild it.

My john deere lt133 i bought a couple days ago cut good a few times then wouldnt start checked the oil found gas had gotten in could this be from me not correctly turning on the mower and turning it off or...

If your JD has a float type carb, the problem lies in there as the float is bad or the needle stuck in the open position allowing gas into the crankcase via the cylinder. rebuild the carb and check the float to make sure there is no holein it causing it to sink. Needle and seat should be replaced and new one adjusted. Also you may want to change out the oil with the gas in it as it will destroy the bottom end of your motor if left mixed in.

John Deere wont start gas is coming from the exhaust pipe

if it coming out from there then it's flooding sounds like the float is stuck open you will need to rebuild this carb and clean out all the small holes inside with a small blow gun or can of compressed air...good luck
