Question about Ford 8n,9n,2n, Tractor Starter With Drive
You should be able to get it in fairly easily once you get the proper combinations of angles to get the drive to clear the ring gear.If the tractor your working on has an oil filter on the same side as the starter and the rear of the starter is bumping it then you should remove it,also any rods and linkages that the starter comes in contact with on the way in may have to be removed.

Testimonial: "I have tried these ideas and still cant seem to get it by the gears etc I guess ill have to keep trying thank you"
Remove the bolts that hold on the oil filter cup, then raise the cup a little & see if that helps. I once had to grind a little at the top outside a little to make a little moore room..
