This is a common prob...people fill the waste basket so full it becomes jammed and is very difficult to remove...you will just have to persevere to get the basket out...once you get it out empty it and then do so on a regular basis so that it does not overfill again.

Spray with WD-40 or similar lubricant/release agent and let it soak for a while, the remove anything that's jamming the sensor with tweezers and switch the unit on and keep cycling between auto and reverse for a minute or two until unit gets unjammed. Then to reduce friction and to protect the blades use some oil in the feed opening, especially after using WD-40 Good luck

How do you take apart a shredder it does not go forward

when my Aurora- AS662C shredder wouldn't go forward I assumed it had paper jammed into the blades -with it unplugged of course ,I removed 5 screws (back does not release) used tweezers to remove the jammed paper. When I initially pried it open- an off wt. plastic bar type thing fell out of it's place (on right side ) I set the plastic bar into it's place(if you look at you'll see how it set's into place, carefully closed the top making sure the bar didn't move and replaced the screws. I then ran papers through it -worked like new ! I almost bought another one and was about to throw it out ,figured I didn't have anything to loose . Best of luck -hope this helps

Shredder jammed with too much paper will not reverse or forward how do I clear it

hi

BOB

What you can do is try to open the machine and rotate the motor in anti clockwise as that you can get the paper released. But remember do not try to use the Shredder for testing if the covers are open.

I have a Royal CX 66 Crosscut shredder and attempted to shred 10 pages. The unit shredded 1/2 of the papers and the other 1/2 are stuck in the shredder; the reverse mode will not release the papers. Is...

The Royal cx-6 shredder is a small consumer shredder rated for "up to 6 sheets at a time" so yes it will jam with anything more that 6.
If running it in reverse won't work you will have to try to open it up and see if you can manually turn things to get the paper back out...there is no other way if it wont run in reverse...hopefully when you have the paper removed the machine will still function.

I have jammed up the shredder...now what...is it possible to open anything up and clean it out???

Depending on make and model the cutting head section will either come aparts with some screws or plastic clips that hold the top plastic cover on......once apart you may be able to manually turn the motor so that the cutting shafts will turn and release the jammed paper....make sure you unplug the machine first.

My shredder was jammed, now it won't turn on.

You must open your shredder case to release the thing that caused the jamming. Be careful of the blades in doing this. Now, Check the fuse if it got busted, and have it replaced. Then, put the shredder case back in
place, and power it up. Send your e-mail and vote for the solution.

Fellowes PS-70 Shredder jam

I used needle-nose pliers and regular pliers to pull out all of the jammed paper -- it took an hour but I finally got it. I never did find a release mechanism even after I took the top apart. Thanks anyway!

Remove as much of the jam as possible then saturate any paper left with shredder oil or you may use any liquid vegetable based cooking oil from your kitchen. After letting paper soak for at least 7hours you should be able to power through the jam. If not call Fellowes customer service at 1-800-945-4545
