Hi,

Follow the below Basic Guide :-

Step 1 A vacuum pulls air through the bag, then through the tube attachment and then through the base (with the spinning aggitator brush).
Step 2 Check for signs of suction. Remove the tube attachment from its cradle and, after turning on the vacuum, put your hand to the end of the tube. Is there any suction at all? If there is a little bit of suction then you may have a clogged air tube.
Step 3 Check the vacuum bag. It may be very full. If it is then remove the bag and replace it with a new bag. Check the suction power again. Has the suction improved?
Step 4 Check the tube attachment. Completely remove it from the vacuum. You usually have to twist and pull the tube attachment out of place at the point where it connects to the back of the vacuum. Check the suction power again. This time you place your hand on the vacuum right where the tube used to come out of the back of the vacuum. Has the suction improved?
Step 5 If the suction power has improved then you probably have a clogged tube. Dog hair, people hair, leaves and more can get lodged in the tube slowly over time and then suddenly block the tube completely.
Step 6 Clean the tube by first trying to shake the debris out of the tube. If this does not work then go outside and run a hose through the tube. Use a pressure nozzle if you have one. Run the hose through one end of the tube. Then run it through the other end. Repeat until the debris is disloged. Dry the tube and then reattach to the vacuum.
Step 7 Has suction power improved or returned to normal power? If yes then you can stop reading now. If not then read on.
Step 8 Check the air hose in the base of the vacuum. This hose is usually pretty short and you can see if there is any blockage. If you see blockage then try to remove it. You may need to reach into the hose with a tool (like a screw driver or something long).
Step 9 Has suction power improved or returned to normal power? If yes then you can stop reading now. If not then read on.
Step 10 If you made it to this step then you may have a problem with the motor on your vacuum. If this is the case then you will need to take the vacuum in to a repair shop.

If problem Persists, more likely you need to Open the Vacuum and get this Repaired. If you wish you could send the Unit for Repair or if you want to Fix it Yourself, revert and i would guide you.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Hi there,

Well first of all you can check for signs of suction. Remove the tube attachment from its cradle and, after turning on the vacuum, put your hand to the end of the tube. Is there any suction at all? If there is a little bit of suction then you may have a clogged air tube.
After then you can check the vacuum bag. It may be very full. If it is then remove the bag and replace it with a new bag. Check the suction power again. Has the suction improved? Check the tube attachment. Completely remove it from the vacuum. You usually have to twist and pull the tube attachment out of place at the point where it connects to the back of the vacuum. Check the suction power again. This time you place your hand on the vacuum right where the tube used to come out of the back of the vacuum. Has the suction improved? If the suction power has improved then you probably have a clogged tube. Dog hair, people hair, leaves and more can get lodged in the tube slowly over time and then suddenly block the tube completely.
Clean the tube by first trying to shake the debris out of the tube. If this does not work then go outside and run a hose through the tube. Use a pressure nozzle if you have one. Run the hose through one end of the tube. Then run it through the other end. Repeat until the debris is disloged. Dry the tube and then reattach to the vacuum.
If there is no suction at all after applying the above steps then you may have a problem with the motor on your vacuum. Please tell the brand and the model number of your vacuum for further help or information.......

Good Luck!!

Thanks

Has suction when handle is in up position. Not suction when bring the handle down.

Is this a Dyson?

when the handle is up, suction is diverted to the handle for the tools and you can hear it sucking at the top of the handle. When you lower it, the suction goes to the floor head. If you have no suction at the head when you do carpet or hard floor, turn it over, turn the three screws a quarter turn using a 25 cent quarter and remove the bottom plate. Clear any obstruction.

No sucking

if you have no suction - then the problem could be a dirty filter or a blocked suction hose. clean the filter and check the hose from top to bottom for blockage. if all is clean and clear and you still dont have suction then the problem could be a bad vacume suction motor.

No suction

Use the guide at builtinvacuum.com/flowchrt.html to find the issue and solution. Most likely you need to test it without any filter and be sure the bottom of the unit is attached :) To get access to the motors you need to unbolt the very top sides.

My bissell will not suction water from the carpet

Please check the following:

First check the motor duct gasket. The motor duct gasket is visible once the tank is removed. It is located underneath the handle on the top of the base of the machine. It has a black rubber coating around it. If there is no suction there please let us know. If your machine does have suction at the duct, continue to check the following:

- Ensure the Ready Tools Dial is set to the appropriate setting (Floor Cleaning or Hose Attachments).
- Remove the tank from the machine and ensure the tank lid is attached properly. The front window must first hook onto the lip of the bottom of the tank and then drape over the tank. Latch the bottom tank to the top tank lid. THIS LID CANNOT BE ATTACHED PROPERLY IF THE TANK IS NOT REMOVED FROM THE MACHINE.
- Make sure the Water Tank is not full on the outside of the bladder. If it is, empty the tank.
- Ensure the hose is firmly attached to the back of the machine. If not, re-insert as necessary by twisting into place.
- The machine must be in an upright, locked position and set to the Hose Attachment setting. If the handle is slightly tilted back while using, it will create a small gap at the suction inlet (where handle meets gasket, above the Bottom Tank) which will cause little or no suction.
- Check the red Tank Lint Screen for debris. If the Lint Screen is dirty, the unit will have poor suction. Clean the Lint Screen if necessary.
- If the float flap door in the tank lid is activating prematurely when you turn the machine on, this flap door should be replaced. This tank may need to be emptied.
- Check the Tank Lid and Tank for damage.

Not picking stuff up and no suction in hose as well, suction sounds good until you go to vaccuum floor

Because this unit is bagless there are more gaskets to seal the suction portion of the vac. you are most likely missing a seal, can you remove the basket and place your hand near the suction on the vacuum? it is shielded so you wont lose fingers. if there is suction there, look at the bottom of the basket for a gasket, same for the top

No suction from bottom, the suction is all coming from the hose at the top

At the bottom you have a plasic plate with a yellow screw remove that and you will find that the suction tube is blocked.

No suction through top of hose - HELP

disconnect the hose where it goes into the clear tube on top of the base.there will be a little flapper door there when yo take it off.open the door and take a coat hanger with the end bent over like a hook and pull the dirt clog out of there.but first take the dirt cup off and remove the filter,if its clogged with dirt you won't have any suction.try using the vacuum without the filter in the dirt cup.if you have suction then then thats your problem ,a cloggeds filter

Dirt Devil Vibe No Suction

Sounds like there is a clog somwhere. Check the hose - you can undo the hose with a screwdriver but because of that bend use a pipe cleaner or a long wire to see if there is anything blocking the tube. Next check the dirt channels from the bottom of the hose on the Dirt Devil Vibe once the hose has been taken off. Check that the bottom part is clear and then tip the machine over, remove the bottom sole plate (4 screws, 2 at the front and 2 at the back near the rear wheels) to check the roller brush - sometimes if there is an obstruction in the dirt channel from the roller brush suction will not get through.

Dont forget however that there are two filters on the Dirt Devil Vibe. The top filter has to be unscrewed and then unlocked. Tap it a couple of times to dislodge any dirt and then lift out the second part filter at the top of the bin.

Dont forget to rate if this advice works. Thanks.

Dirt Devil M086700 Wide Glide upright suction problem

Hi,

These new fangled Hepa filters get clogged up pretty easy and when there's no place for an outlet of air there is no suction going into the clear basket.

You're right. Best way to clean these things is to bang them upside down outside on some concrete or another hard surface until there is no more dust coming out. You can replace them and eventually it comes to that.

The hose that leads up from the suction bed housing has a tight turn in the bottom area and this can collect something large that then collects smaller and smaller. The hose can be disconnected from the bottom unit and it may take a straightened coat hanger to clear out whatever may or may not be in there.

To be sure you have a tight seal just see that the plastic can is seated firmly at the bottom and the top locks in place. The gasket does its job once there is good airflow and the vacuum will do the rest.

Any questions or need for clarification just comment back to me below and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

Regards,
Worldvet
