Question about Audio Players & Recorders

I have an ONN MD880 MP3 player. None of the .wma songs that i am copying over are playing. The display shows they exist but it just won't play them. It did play one .MP3 track though. How can I get it to play my .wma ?

Bought Onn MD220/1G today and am having the same problem with some of tunes (previously downloaded from internet and still within permitted number of copies) synched to it. Media Player says the songs are on the device but I can't get them to play. Display says unknown format even tho they are .wma. Other tunes (from CD) with .wma are playing fine. If I try to delete them I can get the titles and the option to delete, can't figure out how to hear them tho!

I have an onn md880 512k. When I tried to use load music onto it after wiping the memory, it came up with memoery full 99%. I tried to format it but told that it could not be formatted. I took it back to ASDA who replaced it without any trouble. You guessed it, exactly the same thing happened again. Has anyone had the same problems, or could please help me? Any

ideas will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

ONN MD-880 format problems solved.
Download : Flash Drive Tester v1.14. (Free download).
After running the program, select 'flash drive/card (only one drive will show although its description may appear to be different to the model number on the ONN-MD880). Now select test type. I recommend 'write read and compare. When the program has ended, close program. Format unit in the usual way. This should work and you should get all of your memory space back. This procedure should take about fifteen minutes. I hope this helps ;-)

I bought Asda MP3 players for my kids having first checked with staff that they would play internet downloads. They said the players would but of course they didn't! I eventually got round the problem by downloading a program from the internet that converts protected tracks to mp3. The program is called Sound Taxi and cost me about £15. It works beautifully on internet downloads and CD tracks. We just deleted the .wma files from the players.

When trying to play music the display shows "Unknown Format"

Only MP3 and unprotected WMA files re supported. If you upload copy protected WMA files or any of the iTunes AAC formated songs, they will not play. All purchases from the iTunes store have to be converted to MP3 before they can be played on this player.

Also, some older MP3 players will not be able to play MP3 audio encoded at high bitrates.

SwiMP3 (128 MB) MP3 Player: I have the original first version of the Swimp3 pl...

This could actually be an easy fix. If you have any files on the player that are not WMA or MP3 files, or that you've stored your music in folders - either way it could simply stop the drive from playing.

Incompatible Music Files: If you have loaded a music file that is not compatible, it simply won't play. The SwiMP3 player works with mp3 or wma files, but not aac (like from iTunes).

Solution: Remove the incompatible files. Convert your other music files to mp3 or wma, and if you are importing your songs direct from itunes, you'll need to convert them to mp3s first.

Incompatible NON-Music Files: An MP3 player is similar to a Thumb Drive or Flash Drive because it can hold any kind of file that will fit in the drive's capacity. However, if you have loaded an incompatible file - including JPEGs, Cover Art, Word Docs, anything that is not an MP3 or WMA file, the player simply can't translate it into music.

Solution: Remove the incompatible files, leaving only your mp3 or wma files in your root directory.

Folders: The mp3 player is not able to open folders and play music files stored inside, to the Swimp3 player the folder is simply an un-playable file.

Solution: Open the folders, move or copy the music files into the root directory (remember, mp3 or wma - not aac), then delete the folders.

I hope you find this helpful.

this is because your mp3 player isn't meant to play video songs. its an MP3 player, meaning it won''t play AVI video files.

I copy songs into my mp3 audio player

check the type of file format, it will say .wma, mp3, mp4, avi, some players can only play .wma, or .mp3 i pods use mp4, or something, if not an ipod than convert the music to .mp3 or .wma and re load into the mp3 player. are you using a sansa? in the picture above, if so then you can just click the mouse on the the song hold it and drag and drop the song into the player folder. here try this hook your player to your pc, open up my computer, select the drive that idetifies your player, double click, find a file that says audio or music open it that is the directory folder for the music to play from in your player, now keep that open, and open up the folder where you have stored the music in you pc and select whatever song you want, click and hold the mouse button on the song drag the song over to the player folder and let go of the mouse button within seconds it should appear, but like I said before make sure .wma or .mp3 is at the end of the song title, like this
All along the watchtower.wma or Sweet emotion.mp3 , it also helps to adjust the windows smaller to fit them both on the screen that way you can just drag and drop faster. I hope thiis helps.

HELP!!!

The songs that you are syncing may not be in the right format for this particular Mp3 player. Where did you get the songs?
Q: What type of files can I play?
A: Mp3 and WMA files. DRM protected WMA files, such as those purchased from many online music services, must be copied to the player via Windows Media Player or the music management software compatible with your online music store.

The player does not support AAC file playback.
(i.e: iTunes will not work)

Will not play all songs

Make sure the songs are in the correct format. Make sure the songs are not AAC, WAV, streaming, or some other non-supported format

Mp3 players are more complicated than ever. This player may only accept DRM-encrypted WMA files. I would first check the songs that you have downloaded to make sure they did not have "temporary" licenses with a fixed end date. You can do this by right clicking on an individual song, clicking on properties, and selecting the "license," "digital rights mgmt" or "media usage rights" tab - the wording varies by configuration. It will give you info on the license. If the song says that it has no license, it will not work with this player. One remedy is to use mp3 converter software to convert all of those wma files to Mp3's - I don't know of any free ones, but you can certainly look for free Mp3 Converters. Another remedy on unlicensed songs is to hit the "acquire license" link in the license tab, if one exists.

Help with copying music to my mp3

I have the same player. Are you just dragging and dropping songs on to the player? I use Windows Media Player 10 to put music on the player. It has a function called SYNC. What that does is take your music from WMA 10 (WMA, MP3 files, etc...) and transfers them to your mp3 player. You might give that a shot. Also, WMA 10 should recognize your player and let you connect with it.
