Re: Sharp EL-2630GII Error on display
Unable to locate a manual for this specific model, but if you go to http://www.sharp.ca/manuals/, you will find one for an EL2630-P, PII, and PIII. The functions are very similar and should give you the detail that you need. Generally there will be a reset button (likely on the bottom of the machine), which often must be pushed in using a ballpoint pen or similar implement, if no other routine clear or reset procedure (such as turning off and back on) is working.
Please post back if you need more help, otherwise thank you for using and rating FixYa!

CE stands for Clear Entry. It clears the number that one just entered. To clear the results of a previous calculation use the key AC, if calculator has one. Otherwise try pressing the CE key twice or enter 0, because that is what the clear button will do.
You need a SHARP with Write-View display capabilities. The EL-531X is unable to show that. The Write-View calculators from Shard have a W, example EL-W516 followed by Write-View. Not to be confused with the W in EL-520W
Your calculator is set to display in scientific notation. To change it, press SETUP 1 then choose the desired mode. For most purposes you'll probably want Floating Point. For more details see the third column of the first page of the manual.
First press the reset button then when the display says "RESET OK ?" press the CAPS button then the button marked "2nd" (bottom left hand corner) then press Enter. Display will then say "BUSY". Reset is then complete.
Getting Decimal Answers by Disabling WriteView on the Sharp EL-W516 Calculator
The Sharp EL-W516's WriteView display uses multiple lines to display mathematics as it is seen on a page. Fractions are shown as fractions, exponents as exponents, integrals as integrals, and so on. This makes entering calculations easier, and reduces the chance of errors.
At the same time, calculation results are displayed as fractions (or with roots or pi) whenever possible. Pressing the CHANGE button repeatedly will change these to decimal answers. If you prefer to always get decimal results you need to disablethe WriteView display mode. Doing this will make the calculator display like the Sharp EL-546W when in NORMAL mode. Answers will be given as decimals, but fractions will no longer look like fractions. In general, you will still need to follow the EL-W516 instructions. Disabling WriteView
Press 2ndF and MATH to enter SET UP. Now press 2 for EDITOR.
There are now two options: 0: W-VIEW, and 1: LINE
Press 1 for Linear display mode to disable the WriteView display, and to get decimals as your answers.
To return to the WriteView display, go through the steps above but press 0 for W-VIEW.
NOTE: It is not possible to have decimals as the default answer form when in WriteView mode.
Not knowing what to do, I tried anything that could possibly help: I installed fresh batteries and I pushed the reset button on the back of the calculator (Sharp EL-546L) and finally, it work all right after more than 5 years I own the calculator and where it did work correctly for 5 minutes. I tried the reset button in the past (long time ago) and it didn't work. This time it worked because, maybe, I've used fresh batteries. Marcello
