Under mower, remove blade, remove plastic or metal shield, remove blade adaptor that the belt goes around,by now you see the bottom of the engine, look for a square headed plug that a 3/8 inch ratchet with a short extension fits into and remove conterclockwise and have a container to catch the oil )or you may see a plastic plug that a standard wrench would fit or possibly still a ratchet item.( Note : always have your mowers spark plug up,usually in the front and support the front while you are doing the above)
If you dont want to get dirty then buy a vacuum oil extractor and remove the oil through the dipstick hole

Many mower engines no longer have a drain plug, or the plug is covered by the deck or other components, the best way is to suck the oil out via the oil filler, there are plenty of inexpensive vacume pumps availble that makes the job easy, check out the dealers or e bay.

Where is drain plug for oil on Troy bilt Tb230

It does not have a drain plug. You can remove the dip stick and tilt the mower to pour out the oil, or you can use one of those hand pump syphon units to pump it out.

How to change the oil in my 550 self propelled push mower. Where is the oil plug? How often does the spark plug need to be changed. We've had ours nearly 2 years with lite use, and no maintenance.

There is no drain plug on that model , one has to lift up the entire machine ,tilt and drain the oil out of the filler spout. Change plug once a year - Champion# J19LM

I need to change oil in my yard man lawn mower. Where is the drain plug? I need to change the oil

Hi, you drain it out of the dipstick filler hole by tipping the mower to that side. Remove the sparkplug cap first as a safety precaution. Hope this helps, regards Phil.

Where is the oil drain plug? I have a Poulan 600 pro self-propelled lawn mower and cannot find the oil drain plug to change the oil.

It is on the bottom of the engine. Lift up the deck and look under it. Make sure there's no grass covering it up.

Oil change

Most push mowers, you just take out the filler plug and turn it on it's side to drain.Set the mower up on blocks so it rests 6-8" off the ground, place a large catch pan underneath for the oil.

I have a troy bilt mower with a briggs & stratton engine. How do I change the oil?

There should be a drain plug on the underside of the mower deck. Raise that side of deck, remove the plug and drain the oil. Replace the plug and add new oil. Hope this helped.
