Question about Washing Machines
I do not know the model of your machine but if you have to keep hitting the door then I would most certainly suspect that the door switch is the fault.
If you are handy with DIY.Then you could replace this switch yourself.Make sure the power is off,remove the nylon band around the front door seal,If it is an Electrolux machine remove the 2 screws holding the switch remove plug or if seperate wires make note of where they were on switch.Fit new switch and refit door rubber and the nylon clamp compress with big pliars and run machine.If switch is left as it is you could end up damaging the Programmer.If not sure I would get the local service man to call out.
