How to export recorded video on a Pelco DX8100 DVR?

Converting Pelco exported video files
WHAT IS A DVR?
A DVR is a video recording and pl
ayback device that inco
rporates all of the essential capa
bilities of a VCR but adds significan
t advantages. Like
a VCR, video is recorded from one or more cameras and stored for later playback and retrieval; however, in a DVR, video data is
recorded and
stored on a hard disk instead of
magnetic tape.
Storing video in
this manner facilitates
instant, rand
om access to data, as opp
osed to sequential
access inherent to tape-based recording. This means no fast-forwarding or rewinding is necessary to locate the data a user want
s to view or
export. Another key advantage over tape is decreased maintenance. With no need to replace tapes, DVRs with hard disks can be le
ft unattended
for extended periods of time. Since video remains in the digital domain, data is easy to store, transport, and manipulate. Unli
ke analog video
recordings, digital data does not suffer from a loss in quality wh
en copied or moved from device to device. Because DVRs rely o
n hard disks
instead of tape, data storage is virtually unlimited. Video data
can also take advantage of comp
ression technology
to increase
the efficiency of
storage media. Modern DVRs, such as the DX8000, allow users to record, play back, and view live video simultaneously. Keeping d
ata digital
means video can be easily backed up to a variety of storage media.
It also means that alphanumeric
information, such as date, t
ime, and
transaction statistics,
can be synchronously recorded with video.

Vhs tape will not play

Probably the loading belt has stretched or gone brittle. Another possibility is the lamp in the centre of the tape loading bay has failed.

Internal error-cannot load data for alert fsi open err4

the slave drive has a fault. would say it needs changing. system records onto hard drive one then send to hard drive 2 at its peek. now this can be 10gb. but alert data is stored on slave drive. unless your model has cd rom then it has 1 hard drive formatted in to 2 drives. if this is the case then your hard drive has picked up a fault wile in use. you would need a new hard drive and down load the soft wear for you system. format the hard drive in fat32 and split the drive into 2. D/E then put the hard drive in system. Now the software will be in a iso file so that will need to be burned to a disk. then put the disc into drive. now turn on system and hold down camera 2 for 5-10 seconds you should see the light on the cd rom light up and it should re-boot to new system. now you just need to set the system back up to the way you want it. hope this helps you.

I need to change hard drive. Does anyone know the proceedure?

you will need to format new hard drive to FAT32. then depending on system cd rom or no cd rom. with out cd rom both hard drives need to be in FAT32. can be done on a PC with FAT32 for large hard drive or down load FAT32 formatter any one will do to format the drive. then download the firmware and put just the 3 folder files on to the hard drive bin file etc. then put the drives back in the system. switch on and it shall do the rest takes about 10min. Now system with cd rom. down load the firm wear for your system. format the new hard drive so it is split into two drives both in FAT32. after this is done put into the system. burn the files for the firmware onto a disk and put in the cd rom on the system. and switch on the system and hold down camera 2 for 5-10seconds then the cd rom should load and put files on to the system and start up can take upto an hour depending on the size of the hard drive you are putting in. that should be it firm ware is available from the down loads and support on the Dedicated Micros web site.

I get "Disc problem -

the hard drive may be damaged or not have FAT32 format on the drive. this can be because the hard drive is not readable any more and needs replacing or it have lost it's format. check the hard drive on a PC. if not recognised on a pc you will need a new one and format it to FAT32 split drive as sound like you have the type with a cd rom. then down load the firmware and burn to a disc. put new hard drive in and cd into drive and hold down camera 2 for 5-10seconds should put the new software on from the disc and restart. takes up to an hour depending on disc size you put in.

Disk Problem - may be wrong FAT version suggets using monitor ro reformat disk. prior screenc showed message regaridng error 6019 (that was before my bosses started fooling with the system)

sounds like hard drive fail. take the hard drive out and put on a PC as a slave setting. if the PC picks it up, if it does go to my computer and check hard drive for faults using windows tools the hard drive should be in FAT32. if it will not read in window or ask's to be formated. it has lost is FAT32 format. now it can be remormatted but you will need a FAT32 format softwear as windows dont use this now in there firm wear. down load the firm wear from dedicated micro web site. and put the 3 files on the hard drive boot folder zip file and another one cannot rember name not dv file think it say or the not pad just the 3 files. put hard drive back in as master again. and turn on it should restart. will take a bit longer as it will be opening the zip file and loading the softwear. when its done then you can sort out the setting in the menu etc for record etc.if hard drive has failed and no repairable format it 2 FAT32 and do as above with 3 files. should be fine then. allso in the site is a manual read this for the setting.... think 6019 is hard drive fault

Error number = 6019 Get this message which won't

its a hard drive fault. change thye hard drives. and instal new firmwear. hard drive have to be formated to FAT32. download softwear from dedicated and the 3 files to the new hard drive you are going to use as master first file is Boot and other two files no note pad or think its dv softwear. put the hard drive in cctv, then turn on should boot up and the add the files to its system from the zip file. after it has finished it will set up slave drive. down load the manual as well so you can rest the system for how many day to record for and save video for how meany days etc.

Does not provide code for my pacific dvd player

You can perform a manual search.

Press and hold TV,SAT,DVD or VCR until the centre light blinks red.

While it is blinking press 0000

The flashing will speed up.

Press the power button repeatedly - it will cycle through all codes.

When your device turns off (powers off) press the okay button.

It should now power on and off correctly.

Check the other buttons to see if everything works.

If it does not start the process again - it will hit another code which will also power down the device - takes a long time but should work - manual states it may take 20 mins - practise says longer!

ZENEITH DTT900 ANALOG TO DIGITAL CONVERTER BOX CONNECTIONS

Can't go through the VCR in the normal way. The DTV box must be tuned to the channel you want to record and left there. Cannot tell VCR to tape one channel and watch another nor tape multiple timed and multiple channel shows unless the DTV is tuned to that specific channel. This makes most VSR functions useless.
