Sometimes I put a game in my 360 and a message comes up that says "put this disk into a 360 machine" As it is the 360 I am playing on I don't understand why this happens. I have also recently just got it back after it had been fixed after the dreaded 3 red lights so is there still a problem with the machine or is it something much more simple?
Actually got in touch with the x box support team who I must admit were spot on and it needs servicing. Best thing is I am being given priority and have been offered extras to keep me sweet as I was able to vent my anger about having a problem again.

This message sometimes comes up if you have copied the game to the 360`s hard drive , the game will only be playable if it is in the DVD drive as the 360 needs to know if you still own that game . It will spin the drive to see if you still own it and then load it off the hard Drive .
I have the same problem but since my xbox is out of warentee and I have 0 dollars here is a couple of ways i found that helped my xbox play disks that it didnt wanna play: first putting it on its side will help if it makes large circle scratches on it second if you open and close the disk tray a few times then turn the console on and off it seems to work when the consoles comes back on. I found it helpful if it was being particularly stubborn to play a game if you disconnect the internet it tends to work a little better
Something is wrong with your DISK scanner. Those are pretty expensive to replace, so I would try to talk to Microsoft about it so maybe they could refund you some money if your warrenty isn't over yet.
if its just 4 that 1 game then ur disk wont play no longer. mine did the same thing. i flipped my console to the side while a game wuz in and now i get the same message along with a lot of chinese on the page. but if its wit all ur games then its ur cd drive.
