Why does my ge profile spacemaker not heat up

There maybe so many factors. How old is your microwave. From your description, I believe you may have to change your Magnetron. Maybe the magnet is cracked.

Extra Large GE Microwave does not heat

Dear JD,
If you wish to repair the one you have, recommend you go to the SearsPartsDirect website, and type in you model number when asked.
You will see a nice blow-up of your model with parts listed. According to your information, you should either need a fuse, a capacitor, or a magnetron, or any combination of those.
The fuse might or might not be the problem.
The capacitor is the electronic "starter" to start the magneton, and the magnetron is the part that emits radio waves to cook the food.
Understand that, if you choose to"do-it-yourself", the capacitor is a very dangerous item, as it "holds a charge", so be certain to seek an electrical expert before you start the job.
Another choice for you would be to find a good craftsman who could fashion or design and make some panel inserts for the kitchen area if you must get a smaller microwave.
God bless your efforts.

Ge profile advantium microwave 220v not heating

There are three likely causes, open magnetron, cracked high voltage diode, or a shorted high voltage capacitor.

Have ge profile spacesaver xl sensor. will not heat strange buzzing sound and burning smell. clock, light, vent still work

This is most likely a defective magnetron, especially with the burning smell. There are two other parts that can be a problem, the high voltage capacitor and diode, all three work together to heat food. If the magnetron is the culprit, probably cheaper to replace the microwave oven.

All features of oven work normally but there is no heat and nothing cooks. What is causing this?

Mostlikely the magnetron circuit has failed. The magnetron is the part the makes the microwaves that heat the food. It can be pricely to repair and if the magnetron needs to be replaced, the cost of replacement typically is about the same as buying a new oven. Sorry.

Ge profile jvm3670sf001 magentron replaced but still not heating food

Check the high voltage diode for a short.

See: http://www.gallawa.com/microtech/diode.html
(if it's not shorted or burned, it's probably okay)

No heat

If the fan, lites, all work and appears to be running normal but just no heat, chances are its the magnetron that has failed. Sometimes magnetron will make a deeper noise if it has failed

GE PROFILE PURCHASED 2006 RUNS BUT NO HEAT MICRO/CONV MODEL JEB1095BB

HI. in most cases, this will lead to a failed Heating device(magnetron tube). It would be wise to check the Magnetron cutoff fuse to be sure of its integrity. if the fuse is blown, simply replace it. if the fuse continues to show continuity, replace the magnetron.

(((The fuse is located inside the unit along side the magnetron)))

GE Profile Microwave will not heat

Unfortunately, there is no way to tell which part the microwave needs without opening it up for examination. There are a few parts that, if defective, would prevent the oven from heating.

  • a high voltage transformer which passes energy to the magnetron
  • a magnetron which converts high-voltage electric energy to microwave radiation
  • a magnetron control circuit (usually with a microcontroller)
This is NOT a repair that you would want to attempt yourself. The labor for the repair would cost a minimum of $50 and shouldn't exceed $100. You'll also have to pay for the necessary part if it's still available from the manufacture or their parts distributor.
