Question about Siemens WTXD5300US Electric Dryer

1 Answer

My siemens dryer runs, but does not dry at all. My washer got out of balance and banged into the dryer. Could this have damaged something in the dryer causing it to stop working?

Why does my dryer make a load bang mid cycle?

You are overloading your machine, and in mid-cycle, the clothes are becoming out of balance. Try running the dryer with smaller loads. You will find that the clothes will come out of the dryer with fewer wrinkles, and that your items will be less likely to be damp after a drying cycle. If you continue to overload your machine, you risk breaking of belts or otherwise damaging your machine. You also may decrease the life of the clothes you dry since overloading is also hard on seams and fabrics.

Gas dryer making banging nosie when drying

could be broken spring on suspension or broken tentioner wheel around dryer tub

The tub moves to freely and bangs on the washer sides

The tub shouldn't bang on the inside of the washer cabinet, as you already know. That is not a "normal" way for it to fail. Rather, I suspect something else. First try this: If you have your washer right next to your dryer, the washer itself is probably banging against the dryer during specific times during the wash - but most likely during the spin cycle. If you spread them apart a little bit - or stuff a towel or two between them, you may find that it stops banging. The washer may also be hitting something other the dry, too. Check all around the washer - try to keep and inch or two between it and anything else. If it still is banging - then something else is causing it.

Good luck!

Washer spins than it gets off balance and shuts

Hi, Washing machines can become unbalanced when the wash load has too much weight in one area of the basket. A machine in good working order can handle most problems through its balancing mechanisms. However, when washing heavy single items such as comforters, the machine's tub can become so lopsided that it damages the washer.

Washing machines that get unbalanced can shake, make banging noises, and even more across the floor. When machines are secured in one place, they can vibrate and bang so much the entire house shakes and things fall off shelves. This is not good for the washer. Bolts can come loose, and parts can break.

When washing heavy items such as pillows or down coats, stay near the washer so you can correct any balance problems as they occur. Some washers have an automatic shut-off feature when they become too far off-balance. If yours does not, stop the spin cycle, open the lid, and redistribute the load. If this is a continuing problem, you may want to wash heavy items at a coin-operated laundry in a heavy-duty machine.

Take care

My washer has been difficult to maintain balance when spin cycle is running for about a month. Also, the dryer has not been spining the clothes as dry as it usually did. Tonight, I put a load in and the...

You did not say what model washer you have. Top Load, Front Load and Model Number... That is very important.

As for the dryer..... If the washer is not getting a decent amount of water out of the clothes then the dryer could be becoming damaged continuing to use it. A dryer simply evaporates the water on tumbled clothes in it. It is is set on a TIME DRY setting, I doubt it will work at all. If it is set on AUTO DRY then, it could be running and running and destroying your dryer. You also may have a heating element that is weak or intermitently going on and off.

It is important to know how old, the brand, the model numbers of everything. Also if it is a Gas Dryer or Electric.

Sorry for the extra questions, but it is neccessary.

Kindly,

Jim

Dryer has a banging noise

It Is fixable. All you need to is try to balance the load or a perfect concrete flat surface for the machine.
If the problem still persists, then during the previous vibrations, the shocks or the drum bearings might have been damaged, you might have well replace them to avoid further problems.good luck.and please post your comments.

I have a Siemens Washer/Dryer WDI 1440. The problem is that when I put it to dry, no heat is produced and my clothes are staying wet. What do I do? Many thanks

take top off. you will see dry manifold running across the top with various stats mounted on it. one of these stats will be resetteble ie with a small knob in middle. press and stat will reset. also check continuity thro the dryer heater and the other stats.
if a resettable stat has popped out, check also for lint blockage in the dryer duct
