Question about Canon PowerShot SD500 / IXUS 700 Digital Camera
When I turn on my camera my screen is white with a thin blue line through it and an ink blot like stain. Then after a minute the screen goes black. I have put in a new battery. No difference.
I don't know about the "not worth replacing". We've got people who are still sending us this stuff for repair. If you use good, salvage parts, you can keep cost down and extend the life of this camera for a small fee. We do it all the time. www.nabilselectronics.com

Somehow you have damaged the internal LCD display, or, less likely, a portion of the optics have cracked. In the case of the PowerShot SD500 it will not be worth replacing either unless the camera is still under warranty. Standard warranty is one year.
