In most cases this problem is caused by the rotating ribbon circuit contact under the steering wheel having a broken filament, the part is known as a clock spring contact, u will need to properly disarm the airbag and remove the steering wheel to access the part. WARNING: Failure to disarm the airbag system can result in an unexpected Airbag deployment and possible serious personnel injury disconnect the battery 30 minutes prior to start of work.

First thing u should do is check for power at the horn this is done eithr with a test light or volt meter ( u have to have someone hold the horn button down for u while u check for conductivaty) then check for it closer to the horn relay then closer to the horn button u can get a wiring diagram off the internet if u have power at one spot but not another u have a brake in the wire and befor that even i would check all the connections all of this is free then if still not working i would spend the mony on a clock sping

Chevy silverado where is the horn relay

It depends if it is a classic or new style Silverado. Both were made in 2007. If it is a classic Silveradothere is a replaceable relay in the under hood fuse block. If it is a new style Silverado the horn relay is part of the printed circuit board that is only available with UBEC (under hood bussed electrical center).

Horn on 99 chevy silverado won't work. I checked the fuse and it's ok. How could I tell if I have a bad relay?

listen to the relay while someone presses the horn button. It should click.

Please see my tip at http://www.fixya.com/cars/r6022358-relay_check . These are generic instructions. If you get stuck or need specific instructions for your car, please get back to me with model, year and engine info.

I have 2003 Chevy HD 2500 and the horn doesn't work. The fuses are good and I replaced the horn itself....any thoughts?

did you check the horn relay it is a small box usually in or near the fuses or near the horn itself It may have been just the relay all along and not the horn

No horn on 1997 pontian grand prix, checked fuse in fusebox, not the problem, what other solutions ?

The horn uses a relay switch which is also in the fuse box.
Find the relay switch and get the number off of it.
Check other relay switches in the box for the same number and "swap" the two to check the horn. If horn works, purchase new relay for the horn or the other accessory.

FUEL PUMP FOR CHEVY SILVERADO

fuel filter? how about power to the fuel pump, loose ground wire to chasis? wiring harness? terminals clean at point of connection?did you check the fuel pump relay? Relay is located in electrical center under the hood on the driver side.relay and fuse legend will be on bottom side of cover, you sould be able to switch with another relay that you know works, ie: switch horn relay with fuel pump relay, honk horn to insure both relays are working when either relay is inserted into horn slot. Do you by chance have the electrical schematic drawing for the fuel pump?
