Question about Icom ICM422 FixedMount Marine VHF Radio (White) ()
Radio has power and recieves transmissions. However when I transmitt, the TX indicator goes on but the transmission does not happen. this was intermittent but is now constant. Could the problem be in the co-ax connection?
Yes it can be. Check the connector on the back of the radio and make sure it is a solder type connector. The connectors that are twisted together never work well. The shield of the coax needs to be soldered to the outside of the connector and the inner portion needs to be soldered to the center.
There also could be a problem with the radio so if that doesn't work I would recommend taking it to a marine electronics dealer for them to test the radio.
