Question about HP Pavilion A730N (PJ510AA) PC Desktop
The power supply generates 3 different voltages for the system. The most common cause of the symptom you are describing is a loss of the 5V supply line. This is an internal failure of the power supply that sometimes can be easily fixed, but the cost of repair is likelt to be higher than a replacement supply. A typical power supply will cost around $40. If you have another system around, swap the power supplies between the two. If the system now appears to work, you have confirmed the problem.

Coul.d be anything but most likely the power supply has failed. I have replaced a few of them on that model. However you could have a bad memory stick a plug could be loose on the hard drive or a host of other minor things it could be. if there is no beep when it is turned on then I would emagine it's the power supply or the memery chip. Hope this helps and thank for using fix-ya

In most newer PC's a power supply will not come on for a variety of issues:
1. Memory module
2. Over heat
The list goes on...
Things you can try here. Try a different memory module.
Check the power supply of course.
Check your cables.
