Once you have finished typing the word, the blinking cursor will be after the last letter of the word.....hold the "SHIFT" key and press "HOME" key, this will highlight the word, then press "CTRL" key and "U" key together
it will give underline the word....

Word 2013 the Underline feature quit working, only uses the dots one

This sounds like it may actually be a keyboard issue. try another keyboard. If the items work on say something else like note pad or on free office then you may need to download mr fixit etc to see if it can find the fault. That then may require that you re install Office.

How do I apply an underscore in an email address?

On most keyboards, the underscore is Shift+Hyphen (usually to the right of 0 on the standard keyboard's row above the QWERTY keys). If you want to underline an email address and your email program supports HTML, you can use email@address.com . (You could alternatively make the email address a mail-to link, email@address.com .)

I hope this helps.

I need to know how to underscore something.

Which program are you using to create the text or document? Microsoft Word?

If you are using microsoft word, wordpad, notepad, microsoft works, etc. if you look at the top of the window usually you will see the letters B, I, U which stand for Bold, Italicize or Underline. You can highlight text that you've already created then select the U to underline the highlited text. Or you can click the U and it will underline everything you type until you click it again.

Hi,

Not sure what "rd" is. To underline, there is a keyboard shortcut, Ctrl+U, which if you press will add a line under the text you are typing
