Question about Microwave Ovens
It can be fixed, but it could run into some money if the magnetron is bad. The magnetron is what creates the "microwaves", and they can go bad, but can also last years, with slight degradation in power. The problem could also be the controls to the magnetron, or the control board. The unit will have to be troubleshot to know exactly what's needed. Make sure you get an estimate before having it repaired, so you know what you're up against. With the low-end microwaves, I generally recommend replacement, since the cost of service is more than a new machine, oftentimes. The cost to have it repaired will determine whether to have it serviced, or opt for a new one. Good luck, hope this helps!
