I own a 1992 Silver City MSN jukebox. I have checked the crossovers and polarity of the woofers. Found 1 speaker to be out of phase. Crossover fine. Better bass, but still weak..How can I increase the bass sound? Phillip

Instead of hacking your unit, frankly speaking buy a new one if you want to increase the bass, its circuit is design only to produce that amount of bass sound. the sound it produces depends on how much power its audio amplifier has and how much its powers supply have.

KRK Rokit monitor has no sound from bottom speaker (the larger speaker for lows and mids) the unit powers up fine and i get sound through the tweeter.

What you are describing is a total component failure of something in the crossover board. You cannot really check a crossover without an oscilloscope and a frequency generator. In a lot of cheap speaker systems, there is no crossover board attached to the woofer. In your case it appears that a low pass filter is present on the woofer. http://circuitdiagram.net/loudspeaker-system-crossover-network.html

How to hook up alpine 3653?

Instructions
    • 1 Determine the distance between the system amplifier and the 2-way crossover. Cut this with the wire cutters. Strip 1/2 inch of insulation from the amplifier end of both speaker wires. Loosen the amplifier speaker screws with the appropriate screwdriver. Insert the bare wires under the terminals strips. The speaker wire with the writing or molded ridge is usually used as the positive wire. Tighten the wires down with the screwdriver.
    • 2 Route the wires within the vehicle, avoiding potential hazards such as floors, seatbelt areas, and anywhere where small stressing or abrasion may occur. This usually means under side trim or tucked within the dash. Secure any loose speaker wire with zip ties every 4 inches.
    • 3 Remove 1/2 inch of insulation from the crossover end of the wires. Locate the section of the speaker terminals labeled "INPUT" or "AMP." Insert the wires leading from the amplifier under this strip, following the same polarity used at the amplifier. Screw these down with the appropriate screwdriver.
    • 4 Cut lengths of wire to connect from the crossover to the woofer and tweeters. Strip 1/2 inch of insulation from both ends of the wires. Crimp a 16 gauge insulated connector onto the tweeter end of the speaker wire leading from the crossover. Insert the wires under the loosened screws labeled "TW" or "TWEETER." Tighten these back down to secure.
    • 5 Strip 1/4 inch of insulation from the wire pigtail leading to the tweeter. Insert this into the other end of the insulated connector, and crimp it securely. Repeat for both tweeters.
    • 6 Crimp a 16 gauge female spade terminal on the ends of the wires leading to the individual woofers. Slide these over the appropriate terminals on the woofer, again following the same polarity observed at the amplifier. Insert the crossover end of the wires into the "WF" or "WOOFER" terminal on the 2-way crossover. Tighten them back down to secure.

How to install spr-17s

The six 1/2 speakers are your woofers, connect the positive and negative wires from the speaker to the 2 connections labeled on the crossover as W(woofer)+ pos and W(woofer) -- neg, hook the tweeters to the crossover connections labeled T(tweeter)+ pos and T(tweeter) -- neg, then hookup the 2 remaining connections labeled Amp to your amplifier, amp must be 2 or 4 channel stereo capable and give out enough power to properly drive the speakers so they achieve optimal performance.

How do i wire the crossover on the dxd210/213

If the crossover is made to accept speaker level input from amp then.....Amp/head spkr output + to crossover + input. Amp/head spkr output - to crossover - input. Crossover midbass + out to midbass spkr + input. Crossover midbass - out to midbass spkr - input. Crossover vari-tweeter + out to tweeter spkr + input. Crossover vari-tweeter -3 or -0 or -6 out to tweeter spkr - input. You have to choose for your preference. 0db makes the tweeter respond normally. -3db mean 3db lower in volume...and -6 means 6db lower in volume. Choose based on your liking.

Sounds like the voice coils are toast. Did you notice a "burned" smell inside the cabinets? If you have a AA battery around, try briefly touching the battery to the woofer terminals with some short wires. You should hear a noise when the battery touches the terminals. If no noise, check with Parts Express for replacement drivers. If you hear a noise, look for a problem on the crossover board.

Need apair passive crossover for pair of maxp64 600 watts

You can easily make one yourself. All you need are two non-polar capacitors of about 1 Farad each. Radio Shack and any respectable electronic component store have them. For a high pass filter (AKA crossover) connect in series with the speaker wires. For low pass operation like a sub-woofer, use it in parallel with the speaker.

Crossover?

A crossover is a circuit that breaks down a whole spectrum of frequencies into groups. For example, your speaker has 3 individual speakers (drivers) in it. There is a woofer, mid and tweeter. A crossover will send the appropriate frequencies to each of the drivers. The woofer can not reproduce high frequencies so it doesn't make sense to send them there. The sam can be said for low frequencies and the tweeter. The crossover point defines the splitting point of the frequencies. Depending upon what sub-woofer you are using usually the crossover freqwuency is either 80 or 100. Most often it is 100.

Hope this helps,
Dan

Lost woofer in one cabinet.

I'm not familiar with your specific model, but some of these have fuses for the woofers. Check for a blown safety fuse. Also, verify that the connections to the crossover board are in good shape. These crossovers are not that complex and don't usually fail. Keep us posted on what you find.

Apline mrv-1000 2 infinity sub

RMS power at 12V 20Hz-20kHz
2 x 100W @ 4 ohms (0.08% THD)
2 x 200W @ 2 ohms (0.3% THD)
1 x 400W @ 4 ohms bridge (0.3% THD)

That amplifier is not 2 ohm mono stable in bridged mode (assuming subs are SVC 4ohm).
It is seeing too much resistance and overheating. Thermal overload protection kicking in.

The phase switch allows you to switch from in phase to 180* out of phase. This feature is not to taken as written in stone. In some rooms, or locations of a room, the output will sound louder/better either in phase or out of phase. So there is no correct setting. It all depends where the sub is located and the acoustics or shape of the room.

Phase is term that describes multiple characteriscs and behavior of a speaker system.

Phase alignment: The vertical alignment of the voice coils of all the speakers in a speaker cabinet, so that all signals reach the sweet spot at the same time.

Crossover phasing: If one or more crossover slopes are of a different slope, then the speakers would not fire at the same time, causing delays in response.

Reverse polarity: You may reverse the polarity of a speaker to make the speaker fire inwards instead of outwards to improve alignment with the other speakers in the system. This is very common in tweeters circuitry. As for woofers, if the polarity is reversed, there is usually a cancellation of bass, to a degree.
