Question about Alpine Car Audio & Video

1 Answer

I am replacing an entire bose system in a 2000 Maxima. I purchased an Alpine head unit (CDA-9847), Alpine eq add-on (CDA-5755), 6 1/2" Type S Component, 5 1/4" full range 3-way, additional set of Polk tweeters, Alpine Flex 4 amp. I also have 2 Audiobahn 10" subs powered by a Kenwood Excelon amp in Stereo mode. I'm having a hard time deciding what power supply to use on what speakers. Should the flex 4 amp power the 6 1/2" component and 5 1/4", and let the EQ or Head unit supply the two additional sets of tweeters. Or should I hook up component system, tweeters, and full range speakers all to flex 4 amp. Any help is appreciated.

Hi! Just a tip. The alpine flex is good enough to power up the 6 1/2 and 5 1/4. Just let the Alpine head unit supply for the additional tweeters, less prone to breakage. HOpe this helps and have a good one!

Screen says searching when iPod connected to Alpine CDA-9847

Check your ipod to see if it is shuffle mode. Alpine doesn't document this but they have a bug that causes the problem that you describe. If the ipod is in shuffle mode the Alpine gets confused.
