Turn your console off unplug the audio/video cable from back of xbox and plug it back in. make sure the white cord is in the hole of your tv and make sure the yellow one is in the yellow on the t.v. (unless your hd). make sure the cables are not loose. and on the plug in the back of your xbox for the audio/video cables is a switch that says hdtv and tv make sure its set to whatever your hooking up.

My Xbox 360 shows a grey screen, the sound works fine and i do have picture

Hey dude, I had this problem and found a solution on another website. Basically, I had either changed the display settings on my tv, or it had done it by itself or my new ps3 had done it or whatever, but to fix it I went into the TV menu, went to display options, on my tv it has something entitled 'Colour system' I changed that to PAL-60 and I now have colour, just to give you an idea of whether you have the same problem, try setting your x-box display to pal-50 and see if that shows colour (if it's easier to do), if it does then try then solution above! Hope it helps!

My xbox 360 turns the middle green light on when i start it up , the nothing happens the console wont start up and no display appears on TV and Controller wont sync. with my xbox

  • Your Xbox may have "Red-ringed" a while ago without you knowing. This means it overheated due to lack of ventilation. In order to get it fixed, you will have to send in your Xbox via the support site at xbox.com.

Xbox 360 wont operate

Hi

This is an issue with the GPU and leadfree solder. When the console gets hot and beleive me they get very hot, the solder overheats and fractures are created. The unit if still in warranty will need to go back to microsoft or if out of warranty or no luck with them, the system will need to have the GPU normally reballed which is a specialised topic.

Depending on how long you have had the unit, it may be worth investing in the newer unit that actually has a slightly better cooling method than the original ones.

The famous X-clamp tirck might work but it wont last long and you will be back to square one.

Hope this helps

Thanks

Xbox 360 makes televison screen fuzzy and difficlt to see

Firstly check the system configuration blade on your Xbox 360 startup screen and check your display settings, if you've got an Xbox Elite/New Premium and have HDMI cable then it should be set as Intermediate/1080i/p settings, if you have the component cables then it should all be set as default.

If that isn't the problem and your games are still loading up with a fuzzy screen then there is either something wrong with the cables in your Xbox or your TV can't handle the graphics that the Xbox is producing and you will have to go into display settings and try setting them as either lower settings or higher settings depending on the TV you have.

It will help if you can provide details to me on your TV too, I'm not as good with TV's as I am Videogame Consoles/PC's but it will help me if I want to solve your queries further.

Xbox 360 turns on, but nothing shows on the screen

If the person that you bought it from on E-Bay had an HD Television. Then the Xbox console is set into HD from the Display options. If your TV is not HD, then It will not display. It can also be the other way around, if His TV is standard and yours is HD. Also try looking at the RCA's(The Part that plugs into the 360) And you will see a slider. Switch the slider, then turn it on. Tell me if that works, if Not, tell me and I will tell you what to press on your 360 controller to set the other menu. Hope this helps.

Screen resolution

From the Console Settings screen in the System area of the Xbox Dashboard, you can configure the video output of your Xbox 360 console.

Change your display output settings from this screen. Display settings include screen resolution and screen dimension (or aspect ratio, either standard or widescreen).

In some cases you can select an "Optimal Resolution" button, which appears only when Xbox supports the native resolution of the TV or monitor and automatically applies the best setting but that might not work with your tv.

If you are using VGA you must choose from among the following output resolutions: 640 x 480, 848 x 480, 1204 x 720, 1280 x 720, 1280 x 768, 1280 x 1024, 1360 x 768, and 1920 x 1080.  Much like a PC you would want to select a lower resolution (640X480).  That will make your fonts larger.

Screen Format: The default setting is Normal (a standard 4:3 aspect ratio); select Widescreen to change the output aspect ratio to 16:9 if you have a widescreen TV or monitor.  You should select normal and not widescreen for a standard tv.

Hope this helps,

Bob
