Gues the LCD display is not working,
1 the LCD screen is out or
2 the backlite inside the LCD screen is out or
3 the invertor board behind the LCD screen inside is out.

Laptop is connected to the external LCD monitor, the monitor is on but screen is blank

There are at least 3 display options;

1) Internal monitor of laptop ONLY
2) Internal monitor AND external monitor source
3) External monitor source ONLY

Hold the Fn key down, and tap once on the F5 key.
Hot key through until you find the setting you want.
Release the Fn key

Crt monitor height are coming very small in size picture wat probelm

Did you set ur resolution screen setting higher than 1024 in ur computer panel resosulion setting?Yes than that is ur problems right there.CRT monitors modes are based on old technologies ,CRT monitors can't go up more than 1024 resolution setting.Setting resolution more than 1024 resolution for CRT models monitors will have thesse causes.The screen resolution on the screen will shrink and get smaller or will not have video resolution on the CRT monitors screens at all.Only LCD or LED monitors models can support and go higher than 1024 resolution setting has none of these causes.Time to upgrade for a new monitors technologies like LCD or LED monitors models.

When I turn my Toshiba Tecra M9 on it is completely black, beforehand it beeped a lot when it started up and then the screen was covered in a's then when it was actually started and up and running the...

Try hooking it up to an external monitor (or LCD monitor) and see if the same thing happens (first attach a monitor then do a cold start). My suspicion (from the a's you described) is that the motherboard is bad - I call it garbage video. Toshiba dealers will probably charge too much for these replacements. If you're a DIYer or you know a reasonable shop that knows laptops, then eBay would be a good source for replacement boards.

Come to work Monday (today) and turn on monintor , light up for a second and then off and now will not come on. Used another monitor on pc , no problem. This is the second monitor that did it to me.

is this a crt monitor or a lcd monitor? if it is a lcd monitor then your problem is a bad back light power inverter board and needs to be replaced. if it is a crt monitor then check the brightness and contrast controls on the crt monitor.
also check to make sure that the display are compatible with the crt monitor as well! meaning that if the crt monitor's max resolution is 1024x768 and your video card is set to a higher setting then you will get a blank screen with a sometimes green power light, maybe flashing. be very careful though because may also damage the crt monitor. also check your video card setting to make sure it is at 50 hz or 60 hz some crt monitors don't like the higher vertical refresh rate.
one last thing is the age of the crt monitor, it may be on its last leg of life. when i worked at a monitor repair center a few moons ago there was a life expectancy of maybe 30,000 hours(?) on a crt(note: it's been awhile so please don't quote me on this life expectancy!)
you may get eye strain with higher than 60hz range.

Can I connect 3 external displays to a Tecra M9? Can they be different resolutions? Additional drivers? Hardware to connect from the monitor port?

You can. You need to buy a VGA Distribution Amplifier that will allow you to connect multiple compatible monitors or projectors for simultaneous viewing.

Good Day.

The display has turned yellow.

Possibilities:

* bad connection of video-cable to monitor
* bad connection of video-cable to computer
* bad video-cable
* bad monitor -- connect to a different computer to see if it works, or displays the same symptom
* bad video-card -- connect a different monitor to see if the symptoms persist

It's probably time to responsibly-recycle that CRT, and spend $100 to buy a new 19-inch LCD monitor.

Tiny Monitor

Out of frequency means your video card is trying to display a resolution beyond the capability of you monitor. Typically it is really a combination of too high a resolution and too many colors. Typically a 19? CRT will be set to display at a screen resolution of 1024 x 1024 with the color quality at 32 bit or *true* color. Personal preferences differ and you can set it lower or higher, depending on the capabilities of the monitor. Let us know if you have any other questions and please don?t forget to rate this post.
