I refead the paper but the power button is still flashing and the ink light is a solid red.

  • johnson1745 May 05, 2010

Sorry it took so long to get back. Your response was not in my inbox. It was in another org. box. I redid the paper procedure, opened the scanner cover. When I openned the scanner cover all I saw was the inner parts of the scanner and not the ink jets. I then openned the unit as before. I pressed the ink button but nothing happened..

NinaE, my power light was flashing because I apparently had not completed all of the copies to be printed. Thank you for your help!!!

Hello.

First, you need to resolve the issue of the Power on button flashing - indicates a problem. Usually it means that printing is attempted and there is either no paper in the sheet feeder or multiple pages have been fed in the sheet feeder and to remove and refeed.

If still a problem, please let us know if other lights are flashing or there are steady lights anywhere.

Hope this helps.

Hmmm. The red ink cartridge light just means that the cartridge needs to be replaced. Try the procedure again to replace the cartridges: With the power on, close the cover. Open just the scanner cover. Do not open the scanner when the document cover is open. You should then see the ink cartridges and proceed.

    Hello, again.

Be certain that the power is on when you perform this process ...

If still a problem, and the cartridge unit won't center but appears partially from under the side covering (even for a second), grasp it and pull it across (as gently as possible) to the center, then unload the old cartridge and put the new one in.

  • NinaE May 06, 2010

Sorry ... instead of "Be certain that the power is on when you perform this process", I meant to say to power the printer off then on. Of course the power would be on if the Power light was flashing !

When opening my printer to get to the cartridges, they are stuck inside the printer and won't move. The on/off button is flashing.

Sometimes the ink cartridge carrier won't automatically move to its loading position even when the printer is on and the cover is open. Follow the steps below:

1. Unplug the printer from the power source.

2. With the cover open, hold the solid white strip that connects from the carrier assembly to the ink cartridge carrier and gently slide the cartridge carrier to the center of the printer.

3. Remove the used cartridges.

4. Load the new cartridges. Close the cover.

5. Plug the printer back to the power source.

I cannot stop the ink cartridge holder to stop in the correct positioo to replace the cartridges on my epsom cx5500 printer

Hello jgw_cansdale,
Welcome to Fixya.com!
If the Ink light (fon3_66.gif) is flashing that means one or more of your ink cartridge is low on ink, and if it's steady it means one or more is out of ink. For Epson printers, there are lots of ways to identify whether your printer is out or low on ink. For today let's just stick with the printer itself.\
Remember: A flashing fon3_66.gif means LOW ON INK, and a steady fon3_66.gifmeans OUT OF INK.
1. Open the scanner bed by lifting it up just like opening a brief case. By doing this you should now be able to see the carrier area this is the area were the ink carrier or ink holder moves left and right,
2. Press the Ink button. Now remember flashing means LOW and steady means OUT of ink.
If the Ink light is flashing, and you pressed the Ink button the carrier or ink hold will move under a small arrow just right above the carrier to point to you which ink cartridge is low on ink. pressing it again will point to another if you have multiple cartridges that are running low, if not it moves directly to the ink cartridge replacement area were you can pop the carrier's lid open to access the inks.

It's very easy.
uncover the printer. Then look left and right site of the printer. There you find 2 lock in left and 1 lock in right side. In right side there is a spring tidely back side of the printer. then open all the parts from left side and right side. put of the plastic sensor that are sruck right to left in the back side of the printer. Then put off iron rod into the ink cartrige carrier. Then try to put off cartrige carrier from the printer ( where the carrier is parked). Then look the belt in the back of the cartrige carrier. Installing/Replacing your ink cartridges:
1. Open the printer, and then press down on the cartridge carrier levers. printmastert_52.jpg

2. Remove the used print cartridge or cartridges. 3. If you are installing new print cartridges, remove the tape from the back and bottom of the color cartridge, insert the cartridge in the right carrier, and then close the color cartridge carrier lid. 4. If a black cartridge is included in the box contents, remove the tape from the back and bottom of the black cartridge, insert the cartridge in the left carrier, and then close the black cartridge carrier lid. 5. Close the printer.

How to I change ink on epson printer NX127 I cannot get the cartage out Can you show me the picture of the cartage ink holder with the lid up

First make sure the printer is on, then open the printer cover and the cartridge cover. Then press the Stop button. Assuming the printer has identified a cartridge with low ink, that cartridge will be moved to the replacement position; then the power light will flash. Squeeze the tabs on the ends of the cartridge together and lift it up. Unpack the new cartridge and remove the tape carefully. Then press the new cartridge into place until it clicks.

If more than one cartridge has low ink, the leftmost one will be in the replacement position when the cartridge carrier stops moving. Press Stop again to advance the carrier to put the next low cartridge into the replacement position. Then press Stop again to have the printer move the cartridges to the home position and charge the print head. When the lights go out or stop flashing, close the cartridge cover and the printer cover.

If the cartridges aren't low on ink, then use the Epson printer utility (under the Maintenance tab) to start the process.

How do you load new printer cartriges

To replace an ink cartridge using the fonth.gif ink button, follow the steps below.
1. Make sure that the printer is on. The fontp.gif power light should be on, but not flashing.
2. Lower the output tray, then open the printer cover.
3. Press the fonth.gif ink button. The print head moves to the ink cartridge replacement position, the fontp.gif power light begins to flash, and the fonth.gif ink out light corresponding to the ink cartridge that needs to be replaced begins to flash or remains on.
4. Open the cartridge cover. Pinch the sides of the ink cartridge that you want to replace. Lift the cartridge out of the printer and dispose of it properly. Do not take the used cartridge apart or try to refill it.
5.Remove the new ink cartridge from its protective bag. Place the ink cartridge vertically into the cartridge holder. Then, push the ink cartridge down until it clicks into place. Do not apply excessive force to the cartridge.
6. When you are finished replacing the cartridge, close the cartridge cover and the printer cover.
7. Press the fonth.gif ink button. The printer moves the print head and begins charging the ink delivery system. The fonth.gif ink lights start flashing. This process takes about one minute to complete. When the ink charging process is finished, the printer returns the print head to its home position. The fontp.gif power light will stop flashing and remain on, and the fonth.gif ink out light will turn off. The fontp.gif power light will continue to flash while the printer is charging ink. Never turn off the printer while this light is flashing.

Not printing correctly. Says to align cartriges. After aligning cartriges, it stills prints incorrectly no mater how many times I align cartriges.

Clean the ink cartrige and the cartrige carrier with lukewarm water or alcohol on a cotton cloth and then install the cartridge. Even if that does not work then you will have to reset the printer for which turn off the printer and then press and hold power and start buttons for 10-15sec and then release.. Then try it again.

When powered on the ink cartrige goes back and forth across the carrier very fast and makes a loud noise as it hits at both ends. The power botton is flashing two (2) times at a time.

Home position sensor error, the mylar strip in back of cartridge carrier has been removed or has contaminants on it.
You should be able to see a clear piece of mylar running behind the carts from end to end.
If not there check for a 11 inch by 5/16 inch piece and reinstall or clean piece already there.

Change ink

Usually, with an inkjet printer to change the cartridges, open the cover and then press the power button - or the other button, if there is one. Don't be afraid to press buttons ..

The cartridge carrier will then move from its 'parked' position to a more central, accessible position. Unclip the cartridge retaining clip and simply lift the cartridge out. Virtually all inkjet printers work on this principle.

Don't try and manually force the cartridge carrier along from its parked position otherwise you will cause damage.

Changing the ink cartridge in Epson Stylus CX4200

1. Make sure the unit is turned on, and not printing. The POWER light should be on, but not flashing.

2. Lower the OUTPUT tray, and lift the scanner portion to access the ink cartridges.

3. Press and release the INK button. The print heads will move to the left, and the cartridge that needs to be replaced will stop directly beneath the OUT OF INK symbol. Make a note of which cartridge requires replacement.

4. Press and release the INK button again. If more than one ink cartridge is empty, the next cartridge will move under the OUT OF INK symbol. If no other cartridges are out of ink, the print heads will now move to the REPLACEMENT POSITION.

5. Open the CARTRIDGE COVER. Pinch the front and back tabs of the empty cartridge as you lift it out of the unit. Dispose of this cartridge.

6. Before you remove the new cartridge from its package, shake it four or five times.

7. Remove the new cartridge from its package, and lower it into the cartridge holder. Push down gently until the cartridge clicks into place.

8. Repeat steps 5-7 for each cartridge that you need to replace. Close the CARTRIDGE COVER once all of the necessary ink cartridges are replaced.

9. Carefully lower the scanner, until it clicks into place

10. Press and release the INK button.

The ON light flashes and the printer makes noise. Charging takes about 30 seconds. When it's finished, the ON light stops flashing and stays on steady.
Caution: Never turn off the EPSON Stylus printer while the ON light is flashing, unless the Stylus printer hasn't moved or made noise for more than 5 minutes.
