Question about Sony BRAVIA KDL-40S2000 40 in. LCD HDTV
If you call Sony's customer care and create a case file/ticket number with them they are supposed to have a service provider look at your television at no cost to you. You have to specifically state there was a burning smell or an electrical burning smell. The evaluation from the service provider should be free. The repairs may not be free but you would not have to go through with them if they aren't free and if you don't feel that they are worth the cost. The company is supposed to offer to evaluate your television because by law if your television caught fire and there was personal or property damage you could sue them. They want to avoid this at all costs.
