I do not have the manual as I stated in my first e-mail. What I need is instructions on how to attach the soap container and waste, They will attach on the machine but we are unable to attach them together when they are on the machine. If possible, would you be able to e-mail me a copy of the directions from the manual. Thank you.

On most models they don't connect to each other but rest in a bracket.

When the handle is straight up you can remove the water/soap dispenser by lifting the handle. When you put it back in put the base in first and the top will click in at the handle when it's in the proper position.
You remove the waste container by laying the handle down and lift the handle on the container and lift up.

Hello,

There are two separate containers on the unit, one for clean detergent solution and one to collect the dirty wastewater.

These have convenient, locking handles that serve both to lock the containers in place on the unit and as carrying handles for transporting the containers for refilling and disposal. Removing and replacing the containers is very easy and straightforward.

You simply lock the handle upright, grab the hose, and attach an accessory. There is a button on the hose for spraying detergent. (You will have to wait a moment for the detergent to make its way up the hose when you first use it.) .

If you are unable to get this done, look at the manual, it is very explanatory on it on how to attach it.

Take care.

Steam Vac Is Not Dispensing Soap

Try using a rubber tipped air nozzle and compressed air at the end of the soap dispenser line. Brief intermittent blasts of air should take care of it.

Hoover steam vac dual v carpet cleaner has stopped dispensing soap. Water is still flowing fine

You probably have a solenoid valve which has failed and will not open. This will require replacement of the valve. For temporary use you can mix a soap solution and put it in the rinse tank. The correct mix is 5 ounces of Hoover shampoo to a gallon of hot water.

I have a Hoover v2 steam vac F7430-900 the water container will not dispense water only soap yes, any idea to fix this problem?

This is most likely due to a problem with the solenoid on the rinse side not opening. The solenoid may require replacement.

I was using the upholstery attachment on my Hoover F7220900 and the water and soap container had emptied out all over my floor.

Sometimes it's to put the lid on the water and soap container so that's it's not completely sealed. This can happen due to the gasket in the cover becoming dislodged or it's also possible to screw the cap on in an uneven manner. I would check the seal inside the cap/cover and make sure that it is screwed on properly. If it isn't the container leaking, it could be a broken hose, etc. I would check the container first. Good luck!

The hoover steam vac 5 brush agitator dispenses water and soap but does not show any return water to dirty water reservoir. The carpet seems damp but not soaked, still a bit troubling no waste water...what...

You do not have the needed vacuum on the dirty water intake. Possible causes are:
1. No adapter sleeve in the back of the dirty water tank (the one that you remove to put the fabric hose adapter in)
2. The dirty water top is not sealed (cracked, not on correctly)
3. The intake shoot at the front of the unit is clogged with dirt/hair.

REMEMBER: This is NOT a vacuum cleaner - it is not designed to remove hair and dust.... ONLY wet dirt. If you fail to vacuum floors just before steam cleaning, the unit will clog up in minutes!!

Hoover carpet steam clear

Is this a V2? The F5914-900 just has a solution tank. The V2 has a small soap tan attached to he water tank. If you have a V2, the seal or plunger at the bottom may be bad and can be replaced. The reservior asm. that the tank sits on may be bad. You may have a problem with the tank in which case it will have to be replaced.

I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
You cannot replace the spring loaded value on the soap dispenser – it is a whole assembly and would need to replace the entire tank, you can buy them new or sometimes a local vacuum dealer may have a good used one on hand and that would work as well – check the yellow pages for a local vacuum dealer or Hoover dealer for replacement of the part.

HOOVER STEAM CLEANER PROBLEM

The soap dispenser is supposed to be attched to the water tank. That grey piece, if it is round with 2 small ears on it is the metering plate, it controls the flow of water. It sits on the table that the tank sits on, insert it into the hole and turn to lock it in place.

Either you need a new tank, or there is a problem with the platform that the tank sits on. The tank has to sit correctly or it won't work.
