you need too go into the BIOS and set the boot order so the DVD is picked before the hard drive.
press F2 when starting the laptop to enter the setup - from there you can change the book order.
Please let me know if this helps?

sorry for the late reply. im using windows. im quite sure that there's no virus involved with the distortion of my sound. this is what happened.
1. im surfing the net while listening to music(full volume) 2.)then suddenly the sound gets a bit distorted(jumps, skips) 3.)then everything hangs up which forced me to reboot 4.)the windows loading screen became too long(like 5mins) before it takes me to the main desktop(start up programs loads like 48 years also). 5.)when i play music ,the sound is very much(like alien,"rrrrrrr")
i tried reinstalling the drivers but nothing was fixed. i've even tried Regcure.
i just formatted my notebook and voila its back to normal. i dunno but i think playing loud music using laptop, or in my case notebook speakers would cause this problem. im using external speakers now and i've got no problems. i just hope that there would be a fix to this problem so that i wont have to reformat if the problem occurs again
I wiped out my Acer Aspire T180 , bought the system and recovery disc from Acer but after loading them it starts to load windows vista little bar goes across with the green in it then the vista backround then a box will pop up saying , there was an unexplained error and windows restarted unexpectedly so you need to restart windows now but then get the same box all over again. HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!
