Probably a broken "Steam Valve Cam". They are plastic & prone to failing with consequence that the steam/hot water needle valve does not properly open.

Message says "ventilate"

After tinkering around for days I found another solution...simply open the milk steaming valve (black, with a white steam icon on it, on the outside of the machine, right side below where the coffee beans go) to release trapped moisture (ie. water build up) and close it again!

After decalcifying our Gaggia coffee machine and it going through its rinse the messages says rinse finished close knob. The knob is closed but the message stays and the machine cannot be used as its...

A frequent problem with some of these is that the internal switch loosens up. It is a micro switch positioned so that the steam knob contacts the switch when you close the knob fully. You can try pressing in on the knob while you turn it closed and that will usually cause it to contact the switch and get you going again.

It will likely happen again and if it does you may want to open up the machine (if you are very handy with that sort of thing) and get the switch securely positioned so the steam knob closes it reliably.

Keep getting ventilate message - won't ventilate and cannot operate steam or grinder w/ ventilate message

Try this run the hot water cycle for a few seconds, it that works, try steaming if you get the message again clear it by running the hot water cycle and then go to steaming, this time push in on the knob after you open it, it that works, then the tap rod or the valve assembly needs to be replaced.

Ventilate message, then no steam coming out

Sounds like you have an internal blockage in one of the boilers.
Take it to your local service agent for repair.
Did you remove the milk frother and try the hot water again?
A blocked frother is a very common problem .

I have saeco incanto deluxe coffee machine, ventilate msg appears

Check the end of the steam nozzle, make sure it is not blocked. If not then with the knob open for hot water cycle push in on the knob if that works then the tap rod assemble or the steam valve needs to be replaced.

The steam unit is taking FOREVER to steam a cup of milk. I have cleaned out the nozzle but it doesn't seem to help. Also, the ventilate message pops up now and again. I just had the machine serviced less...

Hi The first thing you need to do is go to your menu. Scroll down to water hardness and push the enter button. Use your up arrow and move the number to 4 if it is not already there. Push the enter button once it on 4 and then scroll up to descale machine and push enter. Have your solution (NOT VINEGAR) Citric Acid desolved in solution and put into water tank. Now open the knob for steam and let the machine do its thing. When it is all done it will say Finished descaling. Rinse out the water tank and put in fresh water. Close the knob and then reopen it again. When it finished rinsing scroll down to "Reset Descale" Push enter and chose "Yes" with the arrow and push enter. This will bring up a message when it needs to be descaled. You can also see hoew many coffee's you have made. Its just above the Descale Machine in your menu. Descale more often than Not Enough while keep your machine working well into the future.

My coffee machine says "ventilate"

When it says to ventilate, it is asking you to prime the pump. Put acup under the panarello wand ( the steamer/frother) to catch thedischarged water and press the hot water button (upper left button onmy machine). Wait until air stops coming out with the water, usually3-5 ounces, and then press the hot water button again.

You machine is now ventilated (primed) and should be ready to go.

Trying to ventilate and hot water not flushing through on button 26

Before you press water button to vent you need to restore to factory settings.

First press menu (far right button) then toggle to restore factory settings (using far left button), press menu button then far right again until yes comes up, then press menu button. Press esc button (3rd from left), machine should now be back to normal. Then press water button (3rd from right) and turn steam knob to vent until free water is coming through.

This is the only way I could get mine to work!
