Re: Wireless-N WRT150N Router: typed in 192.168.1.1 in...
The default login is admin for both user and password. If it has been changed and you don't know it, you can do a hard reset which will wipe everything and return it to factory settings. This would mean you would have to but all your settings back in, including ISP passwords etc.

You want a program for installing your router. You do not need one. The software that linksys provides is more trouble than it is worth.
In your browser's address field, type 192.168.1.1
User name : admin
Pass : admin
You can configure the router now.
Use an Ethernet cable to connect the network-port on your computer to one of the 'LAN' ports on the router.
Then, access the web-server "inside" the router, and login to the router, and run the "Wireless Networking Setup Wizard", to configure the wireless adapter:
* set an SSID -- your "network-name"
* set an encryption-level -- use 'WPA' or 'WPA2'
* set a password
Then, use the SSID/password on your wireless device(s).
Connect the dsl modem to port on the router that says Internet connect 1 pc to any available port on the router(1,2,3,4). Open your browser and type 192.168.1.1 in the address bar It will prompt for a username/password window. leave username blank,password admin. Press enter Normally if you have dsl, you need to set the internet connection type to pppoe and put in your username and password that your ISP provided you. then save the settings.
Your Wireless signal may already be secured by the manufacturer and often the wireless code is printed on a label stuck to the router itself
IF not already set here is how you secure the wireless
Connect your PC to the router with a cable to one of the LAN connections - Now you need to Log into the setup of the router - to do that open a web browser, use Internet explorer (some routers setup pages do not work correctly with other browsers) In the browser address bar - enter the Router’s default IP address, 192.168.1.1, in the Address field. Press the Enter key.
A screen will appear asking you for your User name and Password. Leave the User Name field blank. Enter admin in the Password field. Then click the OK button.
Now you can goto the wireless section or secruity section and set the type of encyption to WEP, WPA, WPA-PSK etc and then make up your own password.
On the PC
Double click on the wireless connection in the system tray (bottom right hand side of screen) and then connect manually to your wireless signal - you will be asked for the password you set in the router.
Now you are connected.
On the back of your router there is a reset button, hold it down for 3o seconds or so, this will reset the router back to factory settings, the default user name and password would be admin, note that sometimes with the belkin you only need the user name and not the password. Usually you need admin/admin though.
The default IP address to access the router when its reset is 192.168.2.1
You may follow this article to secure your wireless network.
Before following the article, open your browser first and type in 192.168.1.1 on your address bar and hit Enter. You will then be asked for a username and password. Default login (no username) for your router is admin. If it doesn't work, use the password you've used when you've ran the router setup CD.
