Reset the Linksys by pushing and holding the RESET button for 30 seconds or so, release, this will reset to default settings. Reconfigure SSID and Security. You may want to write down securith key for future use. This may help: http://homesupport.cisco.com/en-us/support/routers/WRT54G
Theencryption key secures your data from unauthorized access.
The router's password is a Passphrase or the WEP or WPA orWPA2 encryption key.
The Passphrase generates the WEP or WPA or WPA2 encryptionkey and this is in the router's wireless settings.
To connect to your wireless router, configure the router'swireless settings ie SSID, plus the WPAor WPA2 encryption key and then configure wireless cards in the laptops and orcomputers with these router's wireless settings. Then the laptops and desktopcomputers can communicate with your wireless router.
Press and hold the reset button on the back of the router for 30 seconds.
You'll now have reset the WRT54G to factory settings.
1. Now connect to your router.
2. Log in to your router by typing in 192.168.1.1 in your browser.
3. You'll be asked for a username and password. Leave the user blank and
type in admin as password.
4. Now secure your router again.
ok two things could apply here.If you have internet phone be sure that interface is after the router and not between the cable modem and router.
I have found on my linksys that did the same thing I had to reset the router back to factory settings and reapply my settings. To do that look for a red reset button or pinhole ( push needle gently to microswitch for 2-3 seconds.Hope that helps
Look at the back of the wireless router. There is a reset button. Take a ball point pen and push that little button that says reset and hold it (while the unit is on and plugged in). Hold the button for about 15-20 sec. Then let go of the button and you should be able to log back in. Your IP address to access your router should be: 192.168.1.1 Your default password and username will be (Username: admin Password: admin)
Any questions, just ask!!!
