How to wire 2 wire 220V pool pump

You should have a green wire (ground) and two other wires. Both the other wires are "hot" and they connect to the two posts in the motor, the ones with screw posts. The orientation does not matter. The green wire goes under the green screw.

PUMP WILL NOT START IN SLOW SPEED. WILL START IN HIGH AND THEN RUN IN SLOW. could this be the capacitor?

No...it will be the stationary switch in the back of the motor not making good contact for the low speed. Check the orientation of the points to make sure they are not bent. Most likely they are just worn down from use and the switch needs to be replaced. If you are unsure what to look for a local electric motor repair shop should be able to fix it for a reasonable price and thats were you need to go for the part if you are going to try it yourself.

What brand of pump? The shaft of the motor doesn't come out of the middle of the motor unless you take the motor apart and there are no o-rings in the middle of a motor

Pump runs for about 15 secs then cuts off.

try testing the starting capacitor by first disconnecting the power, opening the cover on the end of the motor, and test the resistance of the capacitor
