From the home screen, go to Settings> Sound & display> Notification ringtone> then you can select "Silent" if you don't want any "Droid" noises when you get text messages, etc., or you can select a different notification sound.

Hope that helps!

I just powered on my Droid 2, but it isn't loading correctly. It has been on for over half an hour, but the screen is still showing just the droid "red eye" thingy. What do I do?

Sounds like its bricked. You can try to do a factory reset. 1. Turn Droid 2 Off by pulling battery.

2. Press 'X' on the physical keyboard and then Press and HOLD Power button until the Exclamation Point/Android picture shows(after motorola symbol).

3. To access menu options Press the "Search" button depicted by the Magnifying glass on the Keyboard and the menu items will show up.

4. Use the Volume Down key and select the "wipe data/factory reset "option with the Camera button all on side.

5. After thats finished, reboot the phone

I can't get my Droid 2 to alert me when I receive a text. I've tried all the settings. What do I need to do?

Make sure the notification sound settings are working and that the volume is not turned all the way down for notifications. Go to Settings -> Sound -> Volume and make sure all the 3 sliders are up to the desired audible volume. Scroll down on the Sound Settings page and click on Notification Sound to ensure you have a sound selected.

Im dropped the motorola droid and it won't turn on even when i try to charge it

eeek. Droidicide..... I would say I hope you have the insurance on it because they can replace/fix it for you for only 50 dollars instead of paying to get a new phone. Sounds like you didn't have a protective cover on the phone? Or even if you did, it hit jusssst right and something may have broke loose inside. I cringe for you. God if anything happened to my droid, I'd cry.

People can't hear me when I call. They say I sound muffled. My wife and I both bought the droids and have the same problem.. Otherwise the phone is great...

Sounds like your mic is either blocked with debris or broken. If Verizon doesn't replace it for you, you can get the microphone module at Droid Repair and there is a guide that shows you how to put in the part at Droid Repair Guide.
