Question about Ximeta NDU10-80 80 GB Hard Drive

1 Answer

I had the NDU10-80 with the single click...

I'm sure i could start up from dvd but not sure what that would help since the computer it'self is fine. The drive appears as unformatted in my disk utility window and is attached via USB 2.0. I tried attaching it via ethernet at the router but since it's not formatted the ndas utility is not recognizing it.

Hello, I have a Sony DVD RW DW 28A That is rejecting any CD I put in. The DVD is working fine. Can you please help?

You can try with regedit
If your DVD drive is working fine, then it might be an issue within the OS itself

try these steps
  1. Click Start
, type regedit in the Start Search box, and then click regedit in the Programs list.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password, or click Continue.
  2. Locate, and then click the following registry subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}Caution There can be many instances of the registry subkey that is mentioned in step 2. You must make sure that you are in the appropriate registry subkey before modifying the UpperFilters and the LowerFilters values. To verify that you are in the appropriate registry subkey, make sure that the Default data value is DVD/CD-ROM and the Class data value is CDROM.
  3. In the right pane, right-click UpperFilters, and then click Delete.
  4. Click Yes to confirm the removal of the UpperFilters registry entry.
  5. In the right pane, right-click LowerFilters, and then click Delete.
  6. Click Yes to confirm the removal of the LowerFilters registry entry.
  7. Exit Registry Editor, and then restart the computer.

Layout files not included in final formatting of dvd

#1
Insert your ( memory card , flash disk , cellphone , .... ) into your computer.
#2
Open up 'My Computer'. You should see it under the list of available drives.
#3
Check its contents first to make sure that you have the right drive.
#4
In 'My Computer', right-click on the drive and choose 'Format'.
#5
Leave all the options as they are and click on 'Start'. This is a non-reversible process so make sure this is what you truly wanted to do in the first place.
#6
Once the process is completed, take the memory card out and insert it into your Digital Camera or any other device. Try to browse to it to make sure it works fine now.

Cd/dvd error

Go to device manager, find the optical drive, check properties for irregularities, then uninstall the device, reboot and let the system re-install it.
Also, do you have the dvd de-coder installed, as well as the right media for the drive?
Good luck
