Question about SmartDisk FireLite 40 GB Hard Drive
The usb port where you insert the cable on the hard drive came loose and fell into the hard drive. This wan not due to any wear and tear drops or mis use of the product. I attempted to connect the usb and the connector fell into the device. I have a lot of precious files on this hard drive and need to know if this can be fixed or if their is a cable that can go into the ext port on the hard drive that i can access on my computer

1. the only way to know what breally has gone wrong is to open the enclosure & check. if the Ports has broken off fromm the PCB borad inside then ( if you are technically savvy) you can resolder it back. ( the disk has to be removed first) if not you have two option.
1. take a device to a repair shop.
2. buy a new enclosure & swap the disk
