Question about Barebone Systems

3 Answers

I own a HP psc 1350 All-In-One that has given me no problems in the years that I have owned it. However, the other day my toddler reached in and pulled out a thin plastic band (Approx. 14" long and 1/8" wide). It has two holes, one on each end, and has "C8941-80005" over "GM84" printed on it. The ink cartridges now "fly" across the machine and it will not work. It looks like the band can be put back in place. I just don't know where it goes or how to put it back on. Any help would be greatly appreciated because I do not want to pay to have it fixed and really do not want to buy a new printer, as this one has worked fine. Thanks, Paul Harbert Steubenville, Ohio

Sounds like you need a Cartridge return kit - Part # 5090-6292 (Cost is $23.08 + shipping)

I would order this directly from HP:
Go to this website:
http://partsurfer.hp.com/

Type part # 5090-6292 in quick search box. Proceed to checkout. You can also call HP at 1-800-227-8164 to order part.

Hope this helps!

You don't want to pay to have it fixed, but you did pay for this support?

Anyways, it seems difficult, your going to have to disample the device to put it back on, il look if i can find a service manual with instructions for you.

There is no service manual BUT

I have the exact model sitting next to me, you could take it apart on your own, there are 4 screws on the top of the device in every corner, after those 4 are loose, the top should come off, and allow you access to the internal parts of the printer so you can put the stuff back on as its suposed to be.

HP 7280 two-sided printing instructions

I just got off a live chat with a HP tech, Seems the 7280 prints double sided from a file only. It WILL NOT copy a double sided document loaded into the document feeder, or onto the scanner. Bummer. However 7280 is still a fine printer, and I have owned it since first hit the market, more than a year ago.

I have a fine line across some of my printing. I am using and hp psc 1205 all in one printer. What could be the problem and how can I solve it.

Usually a line across your printing indicates a bad inkjet head. Luckily on HP printers the printer head is built into the inkjet cartridge. Have you replaced the cartridge? Does it do this on any color or a particular color?

My advise is to replace the cartridges and perform an alignment. If that doesnt fix it, it could be a bad board.

Cannot install printer software ,tells me a newer version of software is already installed .this is a HP pavilion computer using windows xp home addition and a hp psc 1350 all in one. I uninstalled the...

Hi,
try uninstalling any software relating to the printer.
shutdown the computer. Remove any printer to computer cables. Re-boot ( startup ) the computer.
let it set itself up. then shutdown.
turn off the power to computer, put your printer cable back in, as if you were installing it for the first time.
the computer should have found new hardware ( your printer ) And ask for a driver. ensure your HP disk is in the drive, and ask to search Drive D:- Or E:- wherever your CD is located.
If it,s already got the latest drivers installed, i would,nt worry unless your printers not functioning correctly.

Where is the ink cartridge located on the hp psc 2110v all-in-one printer, scanner, copier

With the power turned on.
Just above the paper try & below the scanner bed.
Lift the edge till the hole top opends like a book. The carridge with ink cartridges will move to the center of the opening. Do you not have a manual? Download it at the link here.
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/manualCategory?lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=79494&lang=en&
Download the file that reads: HP PSC 2100 Series all-in-one - (English) Reference Guide . Start on page 26 for ink cartridge.

HP Printer Conflict

Perform a clean and "No bloated" installation of the hardware.
Uninstall ALL the HP printer software, disconnect the PSC and reboot the computer.
When windows finish to load, connect the PSC again, the new hardware wizard will show up, follow the instructions with the HP Installation disk in the drive.
IMPORTANT: When a silver sand glass show up in the screen, CANCEL the installation of the HP software (this is by clicking "CANCEL" button or by no accepting the license terms). This will install only the PSC Drivers and nothing else.
Try printing again.
