This means that security has been enabled on the laptop. This first password will unlock the hard drive and allow the laptop to boot to windows. Depending on setting you may also have to log on to windows.
You can logon to the bios and disable this. Most people enable this to protect laptops and data that may get stolen or misplaced.

BIOS on a Fujitsu C-Series LifeBook b> Resetting the BIOS system of a computer can help revitalize the computer's usage. Oftentimes computers are "broken" when they are misconfigured in the BIOS menu of the computer before it boots up. When the settings are improperly selected, the BIOS prevents the computer from working properly. To get the computer back up and running again, the BIOS needs to be reset. The Fujitsu LifeBook C2111 has its BIOS system located on the motherboard beneath the keyboard.

Turn the Fujitsu laptop over with the computer powered off. Remove the AC adapter and push the battery release latch in and pull the laptop battery out of the Fujitsu. Remove the screw holding the hard drive in place and slide the cover off of the laptop. Remove the two screws underneath the cover that holds the hard drive onto its bracket. Slide the hard drive out of the laptop. Turn the computer back over and lay the screen down so that it is parallel to the surface on which the laptop is resting. Remove the small screw above and to the left of the keyboard with the Phillips screwdriver. Push the keyboard toward the screen until it disengages. Fold the keyboard over the screen and rest it there with the keys facing the screen. You will now see the motherboard of the Fujitsu C2111. Locate the small, round lithium-ion battery on the motherboard and remove it. This is the BIOS battery that stores all of the settings and password of the BIOS when the computer loses power. Hold the power button in on the computer to drain the BIOS system and leave the battery out of the laptop for at least 30 minutes. Place the BIOS battery back into the motherboard and reattach the keyboard. Tighten the keyboard screw that you removed earlier, and turn the Fujitsu back over and reattach the hard drive along with the covers for the hard drive and RAM. Push the computer battery back into place and attach the power cable to the computer. Turn the Fujitsu back on and the BIOS menu will be reset.
or b> Start the computer and press the "F2" key while the system boots, if the computer is currently off. If already on, restart the computer and press the "F2" key while the system boots. The BIOS setup utility will appear. Press the right arrow on the keyboard and scroll over to the "Exit" tab. Press "Enter." A drop-down menu will appear. Scroll down to "Default Settings" using the down arrow key and press "Enter." A dialog box will appear, asking if you are sure you want to load the default settings. Scroll over and select "OK" using the arrow keys and press "Enter." All BIOS settings will reset to the default value. Scroll back to the "Exit" tab using the arrow keys and press "Enter." Scroll down and select "Save Changes and Power Off." Press "Enter." The computer will save the default BIOS settings and power down. Fujitsu Lifebook T Series b> Restart your Fujitsu Lifebook T Series computer. Press "F2" as soon as the computer starts booting. Enter your current BIOS password if prompted. Use your right arrow key to select the "Security" menu. Use your down arrow key to select the password you want to reset. Press "Enter" to select the password. Enter the current password when prompted. Enter your new password or a blank password if you want to clear the password. A blank password resets the BIOS password completely, meaning you do not have to enter a password to enter the BIOS or boot your computer. Press "Enter" to save your password settings.
Repeat the process if you have multiple passwords set. Press "F10" to save all settings and exit the BIOS.

How do I reset a password that comes on as soon as I turn on my Samsung sens150 laptop...black screen blue box enter password that's all I see

Well, you mean reset windows password in safe mode?

The process as below:
First, restart your computer, keep pressing F8 before Windows loads, then select safe mode and enter, you will see the default administrator account appears in the login screen, click that account and enter your system, go to control panel to change your other account password. When it finishes, restart the computer, log in the related account with the newly created password.

If the method above can't help you ,try to use the Windows Password Reset ,it is very easy and safe.

My laptop is locked screen just says enter password

If you incorrectly entered a power-on password three times the computer will lock down. You will have to hold the power button for 5-10 seconds, wait at least 10 seconds then power your laptop and enter the correct password.

My mother-in-law's IBM Thinkpad will not boot. When she turns it on, there is just a lock icon at the top of the screen. It is a secondhand laptop, but it worked just fine for a few months. What could be...

Someone has got into the BIOS configuration and entered a Power On Password and when you enter the correct password you can then enter the BIOS to remove this password or allow the laptop to boot up into Windows.
This password is stored on an EEPROM chip and there are no backdoor passwords available.
The Power On Password is used to protect the laptop from unauthorized access.

This black screen and blue sign that says enter password i don't know what to do...

It means that your laptop has a BIOS password associated with it powering on and will not go any further until the correct password is given. It will then go on to the boot up screen. IN most cases these passwords can be reset by "shorting" the teo pins on the cmos battery socket and then powering the laptop up. you then place the normal cmos battery plug back in place and reboot the laptop, there should be no more password but the BIOS will have to be reset as far as the correct time and date.
