Question about Dell Inspiron 6000 Notebook
I was recently given a Dell Inspiron 6000, and it was functioning perfectly until now. The charger is plugged in, but the battery won't charge. The computer won't even run unless it's plugged in. The battery was just replaced, but it hasn't fixed the issue. The battery light comes on about every 10 seconds, and only stays on for about a second. Any ideas?
Since you have already replaced the battery and the laptop works with the AC charger, then probably the charge circuit in the system board (mother board) is bad. I have rarely seen an AC charger that will power the laptop but not charge the battery. 99% of the time, if it is not the battery, it is the system board.

According to your problem, this may occurs for either the
battery of your laptop or the charger is faulty. First check electric outlet where
you have plugged your laptop charger is OK. Then check the power cord. If
everything OK then you have to change the battery.
