Question about Fisher and Paykel Dryers

2 Answers

I have a DE60F60 stackable that is not drying...I can tumble for hours and the clothes never past "damp". I keep the filter in the door clean each time. I empty the water. I have rinsed the big filter underneath once a month. The problem is increasingly worse and there is lint around where the big filter inserts as well as around the insdie of the door. Please help.

Clean out the vent pipe, also go in there with a vacuum cleaner and vacuum out all the lint traps. Another thing is to check and make sure that the heating element or glow ignitor on the back of the unit is functioning properly. Meaning that it is glowing bright orange

Then go in there with a vacuum and vacuum out all of the filters around behind underneath. Make sure that there is not lint built up anywhere. If you are still having issues, then the condensor is bad and you will need to replace

Remove the exhaust vents and clean that out thoroughly. It will heat up again if cleaned out for when lint is trapped inside the sensor keeps the heat from running to dry Even a handful of lint will shut the burner down

Dyson 14 smelly

Hi there,

You may find it helps to wash the clear bin, after separating it from the cyclone pack - make sure it's completely dry before reassembling it. However, the cyclone pack must never be washed or submerged. The outer casing can be wiped clean with a damp cloth.

You should also wash the filter at least once every 3-6 months. Use cold water without detergent. Leave to dry in a warm place for 24 hours - do not dry the filter in a tumble dryer, microwave, oven or near a ***** flame. Ensure the filter is completely dry before replacing it in the machine. For guidance on doing this, please see our online support guide:

The tumble dryer bip and flash "empty water" even if no water. I have cleaned every filter (2 inside the big filter at the bottom of the tumble dryer) but still have the trouble

Hi,

I want to first make sure that your dryer is serviced up. so i want you to do these steps.
Most of the problems will be resolved doing these......

As clothes are tumble dried, they drop fibres. Most of this fluff is trapped by the lint filter and this needs to be checked and cleaned regularly. Lint also builds up in the vent pipe and around the electric motor in the rear of the dryer.

1.clean lint filter
989c696.jpg
Wait until the dryer cools, open the door and lift out the lint filter.
Gently brush off lint using your fingers.
On many models, the filter may also be washed. Check your manual for instructions.
If the filter is damaged in any way, you should replace it.

2.Vacuum area where lint filter sits:

The area where the lint filter sits should be vacuumed .
Remove the lint filter, and use a narrow vacuum nozzle to remove dust and lint from the fitting.

3.Clean inside the tumble dryer:
8dc9315.jpg

2210c2c.jpg
1. Make sure the dryer is cool, switch it off and unplug it.
2. Unscrew the retaining screws on the back panel, and lift it off. Vacuum the blower area.
3. Also vacuum around the vent pipe connection.
4. Replace the back panel and refit all the screws.

4.Check tumble dryer vent hose:
8d2299a.jpgWait for the dryer to cool. Unplug the vent hose and inspect its entire length for snags in the pipe.
Make sure the vent is not obstructed on the outside wall, and fit a flap or screen to keep out small animals.
If your vent pipe is punctured or damaged, you should replace it.

To avoid dryer problems,
Make sure the dryer is level and does not rock, and consult the manufacturer's instructions for the maximum weight of clothing to dry at one time. Also, make sure clothes have been spun-dry before putting them into the dryer.

This is just initial help,
Post your comments about how things turned up, Ill be giving suggestions based on your reply........

Thanx for using fixya,
Cheers.

How do I clean the vacuum?

Hi there,

You can clean your DC07's outer casing by wiping it with a damp cloth. The clear bin can be washed, but do not attempt to wash or submerge the cyclone assembly.

The filter should also be washed every 3-6 months - use cold water without detergent. Leave to dry in a warm place for 12 hours - do not dry the filter in a tumble dryer, microwave, oven or near a ***** flame. Ensure the filter is completely dry before replacing it in the machine. For guidance on doing this, please refer to the video below.

My dryer gets hot but does not dry efficiently. Clothes are still very damp after more than 1.5 hours. I noticed that the lint trap is not really gathering any lint.

your problem might be in the actual vent to the outside. If the vent to the outside from the drier has a clog and will need to be cleaned. Without the proper ventallation the clothes will not dry. I suggest pulling the drier out and removeing the vent hose that connects to the outside and clean it. Once this is done you shouldn't have any problems

Hope this helped

Wed9200sq0 heats, tumbles but does not dry at any heat setting

You are correct. Pull the dryer out and disconnect your venting from the back of the dryer. Turn your dryer on and check to make sure your dryer is blowing air out of the dryer duct. If it is then leave your dryer out at least 2 ft from the wall and run a load of clothes through the dryer. If it dries your clothes normally then you have a venting restriction. Check to make sure your venting is clean, not kinked or smashed, make sure your outside vent is opening an doesn.t have something blocking it. Check your lint screen filter by running water through it. If water is not flowing through it, you have a build up of fabric softener on your screen, blocking air flow. Scrub your screen off and test again. Good Luck, Appliance Specialists

Maytag dryer not drying clothes properly

Have you tried cleaning off the sensor? Many of the newer dryers have a sensor that, when dirty, can no longer determine the moisture level of the clothes. Some manufacturers recommend using a light vinegar solution. Check your owners manual for location and recommended cleanier. Also, make sure your exhaust hose is clear of obstructions and that you vacuum out your lint trap area. HTH.

I need advice on dryer for my kitchen.

This isn't an add its two different units that I have installed and are both condensation dryers. Which in my opinion is better for your needs and lacking venting.....LG and Miele also have 15 cycle so now the decision is what your needs and Budget. Prices range from 700-1500 but well worth the money. Bosch Axxis Condensation Dryer (model: WTMC8320US) you can machine-dry clothes without venting hot, moist air (or indeed any air at all). The Axxis Condensation Clothes Dryer condenses the moisture in the hot air to water and releases it through the water the need for ducting and a blower motor to help expel hot air. Ventless dryers make installation easy, fast, and very cost effective. And since little heat is lost when the air passes through the condensing chamber, it takes very little energy to raise the temperature back to optimal drying levels, thereby saving you energy. The Bosch Axxis ventless dryer features the unique DUO TRONIC system with 11 auto dry cycles that tailor the drying cycle to your clothing. And Bosch's exclusive DUO TRONIC system combines two moisture and three temperature sensors to automatically deliver precision drying. This machine virtually operates at the touch of a button to prevent over drying and damage to your clothes. With the stacking unit I think this is your best option due to keeping moisture, and later mold problems due too condensation. The Ariston Stackable Condensing Dryer ASL75CXSNA is the perfect choice for any home lacking venting capabilities and is the largest condenser dryer on the market, bringing the convenience of a compact laundry system to any home. Wrinkles are minimized with the innovative Pre and Post CreaseCare feature - periodically tumbling the clothing until you come back to remove it - and the handy Bidirectional Rotation of the stainless steel drying drum. Tumble dry is heating but takes forever to dry

check your air exhaust (including the lint filter) from the air duct connector (remove duct if necessary) on back of dryer to the exterior of the building. Somewhere, there must be air blockage.
