Can't detect printer when scanning MBP

On macbook pro. Printer is detected for printer purposes but when I try to scan it says it can't detect the printer

Maybe the scan software is not installed yet. The Lexmark scan software can only be installed using the installation cd that came with the printer. It's not available for download online since it's a big file. If you don't have the cd or you lost it, I suggest you contact Lexmark Technical Support for assistance.

I have the CD for the lexmark x3350, I installed the software but I can't find the all-in-one program on my computer, I've searched and there is nothing. I have the x3350 as my default printer, but I can't scan, and the scan button on the printer itself doesnt do anything.
I guess I need the all-in-one program to scan but I have uninstalled and reinstalled three times now and it is always the same thing. I have Windows Vista.

HP psc1350 won't scan to macbook pro


Did you try to scan, using the HP solution centre? this will sometimes help. It is standard software from the User-CD, that comes with the HP printer

Install the all in one software/drivers, you should now have printer and scanned icons on your desktop.
You can now SCAN from your SCANNER

Please try with the "Hp Image Zone" application, that you can download from HP's website, or install with your CD.

Scanning to computer


I had the same problem until I set up the various choices using the HP software on the computer. It then saves Scan to Computer as "x" file (your choice). Save your settings in the HP Solutions Setup Center. Then, when you check your printer, they will all be there as choices when you select Scan button.
