I have a wd3200jb drive. Drive identify by system bios but no drive letter in my computer or system manage. On trying to creat partion it return error can not read from specified device. Please help me...

Try to go to device manager ( http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000833.htm ), and then assign a drive letter to the hdd. After that, try to access it from Computer, if not able to access it, format it (use quick format) and then use this file recovery program called asoftech data recovery to recover your files. download it from

How to interface the hard disk with another computer for checking problem with which software?

Welcome to FixYa!
i hope there isn't any problem in your hard disk .

lets say if you have
hard drive 1 with problem
hard drive 2 without problem .
actually if you boot from hard drive 2 and the hard disk1 that you have trouble in , then you cant identify the problem.but only read the data from hard disk 1
O/S faults can only be identified while you are in the O/S. so my suggestion is
please tell us that what do you want to do with your hard disk. and whats the problem

Post a comment here and ill let you know .!

We have a IBM SCSI hard disk, Type: DGHS, P/N: 59H6761, 9.1GB. At boot time, we got error: SCSI ID %: Fail. after that, the system can not identify the SCSI hard disk. Anyone know to identify/fix that...

In all likelihood, your drive has reached the end of its lifespan. You may be fortunate enough to be able to read it just long enough to recover important data, but doing a full copy of the hard drive may be out of the question.
Data recovery, in general, is tricky and not something that can be done by just anyone. The simplest way I would suggest trying to cover some of this data is to take it to a computer repair shop and have them try to read it and let them know what the important data on it is. You could try to access it yourself by either connecting it to a friend's machine or, if you're a bit more savvy, to boot up using a Linux LiveCD and read the disk that way.
In any case, with most SCSI drives being over 10 years old in some instances, I would expect that your drive has just failed.

I restored my computer and i saved all my data in my one touch 4 mini hard drive. Now my computer wont read one touch 4 mini 250gb. can some one please help me i lost everything?

No, you haven't lost anything. When you restored your software, you only restored the factory stuff. You'll need to reinstall the driver for the external hard drive. After you do that, your external drive and data should be accessible.

The Bios doesn´t recognize my Fujitsu Hard Disk Driveon a Compaq Presario 700 Laptop. ¿What i can do?

You need to identify where the problem is.

The simplest method would be to get a 2.5" external IDE enclosure.

Remove the drive from the laptop and install it into the enclosure.

Connect the enclosure to another PC or laptop that has USB 2.0

If the other computers can read the drive and you can access the data on it then the problem is with the laptop and these type of repairs can be expensive.

If however the drive CANNOT be read on other machines then you need to replace it as it has failed. Trying to recover data from the drive may be difficult

Hello,
I can help you with this. Follow these instructions--> Start-->Control Panel-->Administrative Tools-->Computer Management, under the Storage section select "Disk management". Locate the external harddrive, and then change the drive letter.

Select the external drive. Right click, and select "Change drive letters and paths"-->Highlight the driveletter to change-->Click the "Change" button-->From the drop-down list choose an unused drive letter, and hit Ok.
The external drive should be recognized and accessible at this point. Let me know if you have any other questions.

HELP! My ps2 cant detect hard drive!

DGR8njct, Get a USB 2.0 to SATA/IDE/2.5/3.5 Hard Drive Adapter Cable . This will allow you to access the Hard Drive from a computer USB port. It doesn't sound good for you. If you do not want to get an adapter like I suggest, you can install the hard drive in a computer as a slave drive, and see if you can access the data. www.playstationclinic.com

recording from an external hard-disk to a DMR Dear Sir or Madam, I have just purchased the DMR-BST835EG Blu-Ray Recorder, which has many attractive features. In fact, I also recommended this product to a friend of mine. My prime intention is to transfer some Internet downloaded .MKV-HD and .MP4-HD movies, presently stored on a Buffalo USB-powered external hard-disk, onto the Panasonic recorder's internal (1TB) hard-disk. However, after registering the said USB-HDD on the DMR, its driver is no longer recognized on my computer...and it has to be re-formatted via the PC, with the result that the Blu-Ray recorder again refuses to copy video files from it. What can I do? This article (the DMR) was purchased, for over EUR 600, from EBay, mainly for the above-stated purpose, repeat: copying the HD films, presently kept on external hard-disks, onto the Panasonic recorder (so as to transfer the files onto Blu-Ray discs later on). Please treat as urgent, as I would like to start using the Panasonic article accordingly, and my friend also needs this information before buying the DMR-BST835EG (too). I earnestly await your reply. Thanks in anticipation for your time and attention. Best regards, Ivan Micallef P.S.: Is there some firmware update which could enable the USB-HDD >> HDD (1 Terabyte) recording ? This is an option which should be possible, also according to the DMR's "Copy Video" menu. ; According to various website blogs, many other clients are facing the same problem - what we are askingfor is for the elimination of the USB-HDD registration request. ; Preferably, the external hard-disk accepted/recognized by the Panasonic DMR should remain in the NTFS format and not changed to the FAT32 system. Thanks again.
