How to get to cartridge to change it I can't figure how to lift top to get cartridge

Perhaps this User Guide(for Lexmark X2450, X2470 and X2480) link to the Lexmark website will help. Just clink on this link: http://www.lexmark.com/publications/pdfs/2007/2400/ug_en.pdf. Scroll to Maintaining the Printer, Page 42, for changing/installing cartridges. In some cases, even when the printer is on and you lifted the scanner unit cover, somehow the cartridge carrier won't go to the center for loading position. Just unplug the printer from the power source. With the scanner unit open, hold the solid white strip in the middle inside the printer. Other end of it is connected to the cartridge carrier. Slowly drag the carrier to the center for loading position. Change the cartridges. Close the cover. Plug printer back to power source. Hope this helps. How do i take out old cartridges


Hello Cutiepoochie,

  1. Open the printer lid and wait for the carriage to move to the middle of the printer.
  2. When the carriage is idle and silent, lift the cartridge latch to the open position. Figure 3: Lift the cartridge latchc01635642.gif
  3. Slide the old cartridge out of its slot. Figure 4: Slide the old cartridge outc01635643.gif
  4. Insert the new cartridge into the slot at a slightly upward angle with the copper contacts facing down and toward the printer. Figure 5: Insert the new cartridgec01635644.gif
  5. Press firmly until the cartridge clicks into place.

  7. Close the top cover. The product automatically prints a calibration page.

Cannot figure out how to change ink cartridge in lexmark X6100. Managed to do it twice before and cannot figure it out now. When the top is lifted the cartridges do not automatically move to the midde to...

If you can't get thecartridges to center, turn the power off and gently move the carriage to the center.

Dell Printer A940 Hardware error


Error 0502-Carrier Stall indicates a physically blocked carrier. This condition can occur for many possible reasons. Most often, the carrier is blocked because the ink cartridge lids are open while the printer is on (Figure 1).

» Reseat the Ink Cartridges and Make Sure the Lids Are in Place
  1. Make sure the printer is turned on.

  2. Lift the printer's front cover.

    new_note.jpg Note: The ink cartridge should be in the up/loading position unless the printer is busy.
  1. Squeeze the tabs on the cartridge lids and lift the cartridge lids up. The cartridge pops up when the lid is fully lifted.

  2. Remove the cartridges.

  3. Make sure that all of the protective tape has been removed from the contacts on the ink cartridge.

  4. Replace the cartridges.

  5. Snap the lids closed.

  6. Close the printer's front cover.

  7. When prompted on the printer's LCD to choose New or Old, choose Old.

  8. Press Select.

» Reposition the Encoder Strip
  1. Remove the power cord from the printer.

  2. Lift the scanner unit to expose the inside, where the printer cartridges are located.

  3. Gently slide the ink cartridge carrier to the middle of the printer.

  4. Gently move the top part of the printer belt to the right.

  5. Using an index finger, gently push encoder strip (Figure 1) down and then back up, to get it back into the slot located on the back of the ink cartridge carrier.

  6. Gently press the strip first to the rear, and then forward, to ensure that it is seated correctly.

  7. Manually move the ink cartridge carrier to the left, then to the right, to check the positioning of the encoder strip.

  8. Once the encoder strip has been re-seated, close the scanner lid.

  9. Re-connect the power cord to the printer.

Step ten: Install the cartridges
  1. Make sure the product is turned on. The On button is lit when the product is on.

  6. Close the cartridge door.
Step eleven: Align the cartridges
  1. Make sure you have loaded plain white letter or A4 paper in the bottom tray. Press OK to print the alignment page.

  4. Press OK to scan the alignment page. After the page has scanned, alignment is complete

Help! Cannot remove old ink cartridge!


Hi,
  1. Open the front cover and then open the top cover. (Figure 1)

  2. Raise the lever on the top right side of the drum cartridge. (Figure 2)

  3. Grasp the drum cartridge by the handle and lift up and out. (Figure 3)

To reset the NVRAM, perform the following steps:
Press the Menu button.

Press the (down arrow) button on the printer until Configure appears, and then press the (right arrow) button on the printer or (Set) button.

Press on the printer until Maintenance appears, and then press on the printer or .

Press the until Init NVRAM appears, and then press or .

Press Initializing and Restart Printer will appear.

Power off the printer and power back on.
