Got Acer M900. Can connect to my LinkSys WRT54GP2 Router OK. But when I try to D/L webpages, IE just keeps saying DNS error. Router is set to DHCP, and M900 gets IP address OK, but no DNS. When I try...

You see, I own this phone and Wi-Fi, in general, works fine. Some thoughts, though: go to 'Start > Settings > Connections tab > Wi-Fi > Network Adapters tab', and make sure that 'My network card connects to:' dropdown menu is set to ''The Internet', and, on that same settings page, after clicking on 'Marvell SDIO8866 Wireless Card > IP Address tab'', make sure that 'User server-assigned IP address' checkbox is checked.
Hope it works for you.
Please, let me know if I can help you any further.

M900 failed to update

You mean you tried to flash a new ROM into your device, and the process failed to complete? If so, you could try to flash it again, specially from the storage card. You see, I run Daskalos' (thousand thanks to him) Lite ROM, dated Dec. 20, 2009, on my M900, which runs just fine ever since. After the flashing process is done, you can install some of the Acer M900 v204 Cabs (link to the them can be found o the page linked below too), and install some useful cabs, like the video call ones (if you use to make video call, that is), the camera cab, and some others you might find useful. You can install some of them on the storage card, if you want. You can download and find all installation and other useful instructions (read down to the Nov.23 version), from this location.
Please, let me know if you need further informations.

Everytime I try to access the public folders from the computers on my network (which both are marked to share public folders) I get an error message saying I don't have permission to access the folder...

Make certain that ipx and spx protocol is installed on both machines. You have to go through windows setup network wizard through the netwok connection properties. Once you double click on that there it is the network wizard setup.
