This sounds like the power supply is not functioning properly. Sometimes even the cooling system of the set will fail. Is it a projection tv or lcd, plasma? this has a lot to do with it as well because a lamp could be overheating. Let me know if I can help! good luck

LG 47LD450 comes on, then unexpectedly shuts itself off. No standby power indicator, no nothing. It turns itself back on after 2-3 minutes. This isn't a sleep timer issue. What else could it be?

Well I'm not a T.v. expert but sounds similar to over heating problems. Is the ventilation covered or filled with dust? Try unplugging it and take an air can to the vents to blow out any dust it's collected over the years.

Samsung TV model LN32A450C1DXZA, after turning the TV on it will turn itself off shortly after and then turn itself back on shortly thereafter. Then it repeats that several times before staying on.

Hi there,

If the tv is still under warranty, this can be repaired at no charge.

However, if not under warranty, you will need to have the CAPACITORS on the main power supply circuit board tested (or replaced).

The capacitors responsible for the power supply can sometimes fail - open the back panel. If the capacitors on the main power supply board look too fat, or signs of burning near the solder joints, then you've found the problem.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Scott

Wharfedale lcd 1710af. switch TV on, a time of 4.59 comes up on the screen, it then counts down and switches off. The sleep timer is switched off, any ideas?

Can you set the sleep timer, or does it just stay at the 4:59? Try setting the sleep timer on, if possible, to something different than the 4:59 and let it shut off. Then turn it back on and see if you adjust the sleep setting from ON to OFF. If this doesn't work, try unplugging the TV for 24 hours and plugging it back in. This should reset the TV.(fingers crossed!) I am not familiar with this brand of TV, but if this fails to work, you can contact the manufacturer and speak with a tech. to see what your options are. Hope this helps...
