Question about Sub-Zero 15.3 cu. ft. / 433 liter Upright Freezer 700TF

1 Answer

Just Bought used Sub Zero 501 F Freezer

Condensor fan starts and the compressot trys to start but acts like it is timimg out. I did move it horizontally but have had it vertical for 3 hours plus to allow for the oil to settle.

I did give it a good bath so there may be some lingering moisture still hanging around.

My freezer drawers are very warm All food defrosted smells horrible even after cleaning. Should I clean condensor, temp is not cooling?

It is likely the condenser fan is not functioning, or the condenser is dirty. You may need to open the compressor access panel to check. If you can hear the compressor running, and the condenser feels warm, the fan should be running. If it isn't, it probably needs to be replaced. Another symptom is the area around the doors feels warm.

Our sub zero refrigerator compressor kicks on for about 30 seconds then kicks off. The freezer is not working properly

Hi,

Many times a freezer and/or refrigerator do not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...there are also many other things that can go wrong.

I have a Sub-Zero 501 F upright freezer. I have never hooked up the ice-cube maker. There is a problem with ice build up in the drain tray and it overflows into the ice-maker. I had a tech in and he put...

sounds like the mullion heater (drain tube heater is open). take back off (after removing all shelves, including the glass tray (remove 4 screws). Pull back out, careful not to pull wires off T'stat. Run the new wires on heater behind evaperator, placing heater down in drain hole. Good Luck

Sub zero freezer door no longer vacuum seals when the door closes. There is nothing obstructing the door.

Make certain that the freezer fan motor is operable. Otherwise, contact an appliance service company.

Temperature goes up

do you hear any fans running?  by the temp staying cold on the drawers whih are in the lower area of the freezer it indiates to me that the fans are inoperable. to test open freezer door then push in light switch by hand and listen for the fans to come on. if it turns out you have bad motor you most likely will have to call a sub zero dealer to have repaired. messge me back with any questions peyton

Freezer always on

If the display reads -20 even though the freezer is set for 00, shut the unit off. If you can still hear the freezer compressor running, the board has a stuck relay for the freezer compressor. You will need a new board.
