This is what you should do to shrink them: double-tap anywhere on the screen using 3 of your fingers (simultaneously).

And in case you want to enlarge them again, just do the same thing.

I have a visible wiring breakage as the wires emerge from the pump. Is this something that can be DIY repaired? Or should I replace the entire unit? Little Giant Tools-Products - 5 Asp Submersible...

Hi acaffey7701...
You can repair it if you want to.
It can be done by skinning back the wires, cutting the wires,(give yourself a few inches of wire )slipping over the wires some heat shrink tubing the correct size for the wire, then sliding it out of the way, solder the wires back together, put the heat shrink tubing back over the bare wires and heat with a heat gun till it shrink fits around the wires. Then take black plastic electrical tape and tape the wires back together till it is almost the same size as the uncut electrical cord. After you have the wrapping of the tape done then you will get a tube of silicone sealant and put some of the sealant on the taped surface you just finished taping. Spread the silicone sealant with your finger and put it on the taped wire heavy.Let it dry and your good to go.
Or Replace the unit.

Each time I shrink an high-quality image in Fireworks to a size I need for my website, the image seems to lose some resolution. Is it possible to shrink such images in Fireworks without loss of image...

one way to do this is shrink it to the size that you want, but then have that image link to the full size image stored somewhere else on the web server.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Picture gets smaller from left to right (tunnels)

if the image shrinks and not just the size of the image, reset the settings to factory default through the menu. if it is just the screen and it crops the image as it shrinks, it may be that the light tunnel has collapsed and needs replacing.

Picture size

You will need a photo-editing software in order to shrink the image file. If you have a more high-end photo editing program such as photoshop, you can simply go to image > image size, and then input a lower resolution.

Otherwise, you can shrink it using microsoft paint. Open the image file in paint, then go to the image menu, and select the resize/skew item. Keep in mind that your phone only has a 400x240 resolution, so any photos larger than that will not show any better on your phone. If you took this photo from a handheld camera that is 4 or fewer years old, you'll probably want to shrink the photo to 20-30% of its size. Then, just save the photo as a new file, and make sure you save it as a JPEG in the drop-down save menu, or your phone may not recognize the format.

Shrinking screen

Is the image squished or cut off? In either event, it sounds like your video card is either overheating or burning out. If it happens during games or video playing, then it is likely overheating and you need to clean the fan on the card, or just clean out the dust in your case.
