SOURCE: carrier heat pump

fuse is usually a small resetable breaker on the side of the transformer, or a traditional screwin fuse with a plastic cap on one end that is a specialty fuse and is available at most motor shops or elec supply houses. or its a auto type plug in fuse on the circuit board usually 5 amps or three amps. first turn the fan switch on the stat from auto to on. does fan run? if it does you have high and low voltage and your wired wrong. if it is in the stat you are usually looking at red connects to red . yellow to yellow, green to green , orange to orange, white usually to white, that leaves a common power wire to operate the stat, usually connected to the common term on the new stat . this can be any color and is necessary for the new stat to think and work, if it has batteries it will have a display but it needs a red and a common to think and work. this wire can be any color and if your old stat had no common which a lot didnt then youll have to add one. carrier also has a emergency heat strip wire sometimes labeled x2 etc. you can usually jump white over to x2 to perform function if needed. good luck.

Fan will not come on when it's set in auto mode

If your thermostat is being used with an electric heating system and the fan does not start in heating mode on auto; remove the thermostat from the subcase on the wall and check for a switch on the back of the thermostat. A lot of electronic thermostats have a switch on the back that says electric/heat pump and gas/oil. If you have electric heat or heat pump you need to switch it to this side. Usually this is set at the factory for gas/ oil. Gas/oil furnaces have built in means of bringing on the fan and electric/ heat pumps are brought on by the thermostat.

you likely have a "two stage" system, but not a two stage heat pump. the first stage is probably the heat pump itself, and the second stage is the auxilliary resistance heat that suppliments the heat pump at lower temps. if i knew the terminals that are available on the new stat, i could advise you on the proper wiring.

Depending on the age of your furnace you may have an aux terminal for a humidifier. If not, you should use the white wire (heat) coming from the homes thermostat to power up the humidistat and ultimately bring on the humidifier. This way it will only run when in heating mode.

I have a carrier heat pump model # 38RQ034300 I need instructions for. To maintenance and use thermostst correctly

That is model number for your outdoor unit. Thermostats are not dedicated to any particular model outdoor unit. You need instructions for the thermostat so the thermostat make and model number are needed.

It's a little unusual to add a humidifier in Florida. The ambient humidity is usually high enough.

But anyway, if you want to do this and assuming you have central air with forced air heating, you could install the humdifier in a standard configuration, then use a sail switch or differential pressure switch in the supply air duct to turn the humidifier off or on when you are in the heating mode only. The sail or differential switch will ensure that the unit can't run unless air is moving and you can tie the humidistat in to the first heat stage.

Honeywell humidistat stuck

what i would do is make sure tha the hole for the wires that go to the humidistat is completely closed and that you are sensing the true humidity for the space also have the tech wire the so that the heat comes on instead of the ac for the de-hiumidification process.

HE220A direct wiring to protech 62-24084 control board

it is best to use a seperate transformer for the hummidifier, but in some cases you can use the low voltage t-stat wire that runs your furnace, you will need to have one wire run to common, and the other to the heating side of your low voltage, normally its the red wire hooked to the w circuit of your terminal board, if you do decide to go with an extra transformer, make sure you you have it wired to bring on the humidifier only when the unit calls for heat, hope that helps
